Feelings:
How does it feel to close a
business? It’s like someone
with terminal sickness, you
do your best to nurse it back
to health, and all the time
you know it won’t do any
good. *
There is sadness, disap
pointment and defeat (all
feelings), and because you
could not make it work,
(failure).
Should you feel at all?
The big swallowing the
small seems to be a natural
phenomena and now we
must close the door and feel
the hurt.
The hardest job of all lies
ahead, pick yourself up, dust
yourself off and start all
over again.
We are blessed in many
ways, not with success
perhaps, but by having
friendship and support from
many people. Blessed with
feelings that can be mended.
And, above all, a God we
trust for the future.
pollution. If they are not
taken and recognized as
warnings of the danger
ahead for us, then we are
only deceiving ourselves.
When we reach this stage
we will really have cause to
be alarmed at the cost to the
government (taxpayer). For
it won’t be a case of
correcting or cleaning up the
environment, but the cost of
trying to adapt ourselves to
exist, if possible, within a
dead environment.
How long before our
governments learn that to
delay action on any
measure, not only increases
the cost, but also the danger?
The habitants of this earth
have given enough to the
large corporations, must we
also hand over the en
vironment that was created
for us to live in? Maybe even
our very existence.
assessment for the separate
board, and in forming new
separate school zones.
Spence Read of St. Marys
will be hired aa custodian at
Holy Name of Mary School in
St. Marys, beginning Sep
tember 1. He succeeds
Thomas Kilgallin who
resigned in June.
The board approved
selling its 1970 GMC school
bus from Zurich for $725 to
Allan Nicholson of Wingham.
It has been replaced by a
new 1977 60-passenger bus
bought in June for $15,600.
The work-load for
custodian Frank Jordan at.
St. Michael’s School,
Stratford, is to remain at
factor 1.15 or full time, while
Sparkle Maintenance will
have less time when a new
contract is drawn up for the
school term in September.
This results from the closing
of three classrooms. There
will continue to be seven
classrooms operating as'last
year, three others will be
used for other purposes in
the 13-room school.
The meeting continued to
11 p.m., the latter part of the
meeting was in committee-
of-the-whole discussing
administration salaries.

Dear Sir;
There is great danger
when environmental con
siderations become ex
pendable in light of our
economical problems.
If we keep ignoring or
delaying action to correct
and prevent pollution we will
soon reach a stage of a dead
environment. This isn’t an
extreme statement or a cry
of wolf.
Each day we are made
aware of new situations of
environmental hazards and
destruction caused
