Mrs. Jack Trevithick and Ruth visited Wednesday evening with Kathleen Morley. Mr. and Mrs. C. Martin of Surrey B.C. were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John Dyck and Victor. Donald Scott is a patient in University Hospital. Kathleen Morley visited Mrs. Roy Mawson in Parkhill last Thursday af­ ternoon. Dianne Corbett spent the week-end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cor­ bett and David. Bill and Kathy Prest en­ tertained friends at their home on Sunday afternoon. Cindy and Kathy Prest attended a shower for Ruth Anne Atkinson at the home of Mrs, Jim Cunningham last Wednesday evening. Becky Thompson and friend of Kitchener visited Bill and Kathy Prest. LAW GRADUATE — Ronald Kendrick Durand son of Pete and Ruth Durand Exeter, recently graduated with a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. He also has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Law degree from the University of Western Ontario. Ron is a graduate of Exeter Public School and South Huron District High School, and is currently employed with a Toronto law firm. Shipka area fiddler wins at Bobcaygeon By MRS. HUGH MORENZ “Congratulations” to Willis Desjardine who has won another trophy and first place in a fiddlers contest held Friday at Bobcaygeon for the age group 35-49 years. This was the Bill McColl trophy. Willis has won prizes at every contest he entered this year. Week end visitors with Mrs. Trellis Little and Earl Stebbins were Mr. and .Mrs. Bob Little and Leanne of St. Thomas. Joan Finkbeiner and her friend Janet Cunnington, returned Saturday from a week s holidays at Niagara Falls. The girls travelled by train. Wednesday visitors with- their aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Miller, were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Annan, Larry, Nancy and Blair, from Timmins in Northern Ontario. Mrs. Sid Durie and Glenn visited a couple of days last week with Glenn’s grand­ mothers, Mrs. Gordon Durie and Mrs. Peter Wardlaw, and also with Eleanor’s sister, all in Toronto. Visitors during the week and Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.W. Desjardine were Mr. and Mrs. Donnie McKeever and Charles, London, Mrs. Mabel Desjardine and Mrs. Ruby Little and son Doug, Greenway. Mrs. Beverley Ford, Bramalea, Mrs. Hilton Ford, Exeter, and Lizette Tate, Grand Valley, were dinner guests Monday with Mr. and Mrs. H. Morenz, and Mrs. Blanche Chapman, London was a Sunday visitor and supper guest with the Morenz’s - Tom Russell and Hugh Morenz attended a party for Bill Morenz Saturday evening in London at the home, of Warren Adams. Mrs. Mabel Desjardine is spending holidays near Greenway with her daughter Mrs. Ruby Little and family. Tammy Morenz, Grand Bend, Roseanne Russell and Annie Morenz attended a miscellaneous bridal shower,. Saturday evening, at the home of Mrs. Ginger Adams, in London for Michelle Webster, of Goderich, bride-elect of early August. Hostess for the evening was Mrs. Warren Adams. More than 20 guests attended which were relatives and friends of the Webster family. Amusing contests and prizes were enjoyed and a delicious lunch served by the hostess. WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD The Gardiner annual reunion was h eld at Kirkton Community Park Sunday, July 30. Forty-one people enjoyed both dinner and supper, Mervin and Helen Shute and Larry and Alice Gar­ diner had an excellent sports line-up. Races — pre-school:'Paul Bearss, Leanne Gardiner; Grades 1, 2 and 3: Brian Bearss, Lisa Gardiner; Grades 4, 5 and 6, Ken Ross. Steve Gardiner; Grade 7 and 8, Bruce Ross, Danny Shute; High School, Betty Ross; Sack Race, Joan and Bert Vandendool, Dolores Howatt and Joanne Hodgert; Water Race, Bert Vandendool, Edwin Shute. Tug of War boys: Danny Shute, Bruce Ross, Stephen Gardiner, Robbie Gardiner; mens, Mervin- Shute, Ken Bearss, Larry Gardiner, Edwin Shute, Jack Hodgert; winner of favorite food, Howard Ross and his tarts; person vith most children at the picnic: Isohel Gardiner and Helen Hodgert; person who came the farthest, Betty Kirby. Ken Bearss guessed the correct total weight of the sports committee in kilograms. Next year the picnic will be held the last Sunday in July at Kirkton. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Passmore accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne on a trip to Moosonee. They returned home Tuesday evening after having been away for a week.Mr. & Mrs. Passmore were guests on Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Bert Barry, London. Mr. & Mrs. Reg Hodgert and Scott, and Alan Hodgert returned home last Thur­ sday after visiting Mr. James McCullough of Gravenhurst. They went by Polar Bear Express from Cochrane to Moosonee and also went on the Pulp and Paper Path at Abitibi. Mr. & Mrs. Lome Passmore attended the Gunning reunion at River­ view Park Exeter on day. Sun- There were 117 people from Elimville and Thames Road attended the church service and picnic at Riverview Park, Exeter, Sunday. Robert Schieck returned to his home in Drayton on Sunday evening after holidaying with his cousin Paul Stewart. Mr. & Mrs. Mac Hodgert and family attended the Gardiner reunion at Kirkton Community Park, Sunday. Mrs. Fred Johns had a Tupperware party at her home on Monday evening.
