Theluming point Adult Entertainment (Si. The Dashwood Tigers regained their winning ways this week in the Huron-Perth intermediate baseball league with two victories in three starts. Thursday night the Tigers absorbed an 8-5 loss to the Thorndale intermediates. They bounced back by edging the Crediton Mets 8-2 Friday night in Crediton and Sunday afternoon they squeaked past the Thorndale juniors by a 6-5 count. The Thorndale team jumped on Dashwood starter Perry Stover for two runs in the first inning. Thursday and came back with six more tallies in the second frame to complete their game scoring. The Tigers could only manage five runs. Three came on only one hit in the fourth inning and two more markers were produced in the sixth without the aid of a hit. The only Dashwood hits were a double from the bat of Barry Baynham and singles delivered by Bob Hoffman, Rob Dickey and Tom Hayter. Crediton leads early In Crediton Friday night, the hometown Mets took an early lead with their only two runs in the third inning. Pete Wuerth and Dan Heywood cracked singles and both came home on a booming triple from the bat of Bill Hodge. The only other Crediton hits off Dashwood southpaw Jim Guenther were singles by Larry Clarke and Bill Hodge. In picking up the pitching victory Jim Guenther recorded 10 strikeouts. The Tigers moved in front to stay in the fourth with a four run outburst. Providing the scoring punch were singles by Kevin Bestard and Jim Guenther. In the Dashwood fifthjohn Hayter led off with a double and crossed the plate on Jim Dietrich’s single. In the seventh Jim Thorndale came back with a single run in the third, but, the Tigers rebounded with two more scores in the fifth, Tom Hayter doubled and Doug Fairbairn singled and scored the two runs to complete the Tiger tallying. Thorndale came back with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings but failed to get the equalizer. Other Dashwood hits in non-scoring innings were singles by Bob Hoffman and Jim Dietrich. Brian Rader made his first pitching start for the Tigers a winning one. The final Tiger score came in the eighth when John Hayter rapped out a two base hit and came home on Jim Guenther’s single. The other hits collected off Crediton hurler Dan Heywood were a double by Rob Dickey and a single by Kevin Bestard. Hold early lead Against the Thorndale juniors Sunday afternoon, the Tigers jumped into an early lead with five runs in the second inning but were "hardpressed to hang on for a 7-6 decision. After the opposition scored three times in the second inning, veteran Tiger Bob Hoffman put his team back in contention in the same frame with a long home run with the bases loaded. Noel Skinner, Doug Fairbairn and Brian Rader had walked to set the stage for Hoffman’s round tripper. Barry Baynham followed with a single and came around to count on similar hits by John Hayter and Jim The Tigers will be in ac­ tion on their home field Sun­ day afternoon at 2 p.m. with the Crediton Mets supplying the opposition.
