Charms, mugs, cups and saucers with pictures, names and dates of the old school on them were also on sale. There are several of these items left so anyone wishing them they are still available. On Sunday morning, breakfast was served by the Ailsa Craig Business men to 169 people followed by a church service at 11 a.m. with a good attendance. Rev. Norman G. Brooks of Lon­ don, who is Probation and Parole Officer for the City of London and Middlesex County, was the guest speaker and his message was “The Expulsive Power of a New Effection”. Music was supplied by Barbara Rosser as pianist By MRS. ARTHUR HODGINS CLANDEBOYE There were 680 people registered at the Home Coming week end at Maple Lodge School S.S. No. 3 McGillivray on Saturday and Sunday. The parade con­ sisted of floats,old cars,horse and buggies, decorated bicycles and doll carriages. During the afternoon turtle races and a ball game plus a lot of visiting and reminiscing took place. Saturday evening the Pork Barbecue was enjoyed by over 500 people and was followed by a dance held in the large tent on the school grounds in which, patio tiles had been laid to make a dance floor. George Lee and his group accompanied by Don Pettigrew on the violin, supplied the music for dancing. Bill Knapp of Denfield with his group “Maple Sugar,” LeRoy Walker and his Westerneers of Ailsa Craig and the Walter Douglas Orchestra en­ tertained. The McIntyre and Dykeman children sang several numbers. The committee in charge of the “Home Coming” deserve a lot of credit for a job well done. Congratulations! to Kathy and Keith McFarland on the birth of their second daughter, Aaron Elizabeth. A sister for Shallop. Elaine Armstrong who has spent several years teaching school in Montreal, visited with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Armstrong and Michael prior to leaving for Burnaby B.C. where she plans to live. Mrs. Joe Manders was hostess for a bridal shower in honour of Pat Mohan, a former teacher at St. Patricks School, Biddulph, whose marriage takes place in August.
