Mr. & Mrs. Roger Urquhart holidayed in Ottawa for a few days and Connie were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. John King of Cambridge. Mrs. Mabel Jeffery of Exeter and Mrs. Hazel Jeffery ac­ companied them to Cam­ bridge where they were guests with the formers’ son and his wife Mr. & Mrs. Donald Jeffery, Miss Lori Lynn Stewart is visiting with her brother-in- law and sister, Mr. & Mrs. Rick Potter, of Sault Ste. Marie for some time. Mr. & Mrs, Howard Cunnington and family visited with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Vogan of Molesworth on Sunday. Mrs. Fred Cunnington returned home with them from Molesworth to her home in Centralia. Church service will be held at Elimville on Sunday July 23 at 10 a.m. Don’t forget the picnic July 30. Enjoy meeting Joy, the young people of Zion Lutheran church held their first summer meeting at the home of Eleanor Salmon July 9 with the meeting opening with a circle prayer and continued with a lesson from the books presently in use. Passages were read from the Bible and discussion followed. This was also a going away party for Eleanor as she was leaving next day for seven weeks of summer school. Ice cream was enjoyed at the Sunset Drive-in before returning home. Will attend conference Wendy Beaver, daughter of Mrs. Marie Beaver and Dashwood 4-H girl has been appointed a delegate to the National 4-H conference in Toronto November 7-12 during the Royal Winter Fair. There will be six delegates from each province. Gardens inspected at Elimville By KATHY COOPER The Elimville II 4-H club held their third meeting on July 11 at Kathy Cooper’s. Members discussed special garden culture, insect and disease control, progress of the garden, the food guide and food preservation. , For demonstration they demonstrated how to. freeze peas and spinach. They also, demonstrated how to freeze currants and how to prepare freezer strawberry jam. The leaders reminded the girls that the Home Economist was coming to visit their gardens on July 14. Miss Grace Bird, Home Economist of Huron County visited the Elimville II club member’s gardens. Persona Is Quite a number from Elimville attended church at Thames Road on Sunday morning. Next week church service will be held on July 23 at Elimville at 10:00 a.m. Mr. & Mrs. Bob Reilly of New Zealand formerly of this community and Mr. Bill Wilson of London visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and family. Mrs. Jacqui Holmes and daughter Karen, of Balzac, Alberta, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson of Elimville. Mrs. Holmes is the Wilson’s daughter. Sarah Getly of Toronto also visited the Wilsons on the weekend.
