Mr. Vanos has accepted a position with the Atmospheric Environment Services as a meteorologist in training. Flowers of Hope surpasses total The annual Flowers of Hope fund raising campaign of the South Huron and district association for the mentally retarded has surpassed its 1978 target by almost $1,000. Figures released by the Association show that $10,975.37 were raised through this year’s cam­ paign which is over $2500 higher than last year’s figure of $8500. Chairman of the Flowers of Hope campaign, Mrs. Donna Greb, said “We’re very pleased” with the amount which has been collected. She said there was a greater awareness of the Association’s activities this year with areas removed frorp the Association’s home territories leading the way. U.C.W. of St. Andrew’s Church entertained at the Bluewater Rest Home July 11 with a program and lunch. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Anderson and Carrie, Guelph visited with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Jones and Mr. & Mrs. Grant Jones last week. Bible Vacation School was held last week in Brucefield and their closing exercises were held on Friday. About 95 were in attendance. Mr. & Mrs. Percy Wright and Julie took a four day bus trip to the Southern States and returned home Sunday. Mrs. John Anderson who has had surgery on her foot, has returned home. Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Beattie, Wingham, visited with Lome McBride and other relatives in the‘area. The sympathy of the community goes out to Elzar Mousseau in the sudden death of his brother Herb Mousseau. Wilson Tremeer, who has been a patient in University Hospital London, has returned home. Mr. & Mrs. R. J. McGregor and Mr. & Mrs. Wm. J.F. Bell^ joined the Beef Producers tour on July 12 and are touring Alberta and British Columbia.
