Mrs. Susan Willert escorted Lois to a decorated char. Mrs. Joan Skinner read the address. The program consisted of a skit by Mrs. Grace Pym, Miss Marg Pym and Miss Joan Pym. Readings were given by Mrs. Gwen Coward and Mrs. Floyd Cooper, A social hour followed. Special service The Sunday Church ser­ vice was in song on July 9 at the Elimville United Church. The sermon was held in song by special guests. Mrs. Ruth Cross and Mrs. Rosalyn Hansford and Ross Hargreave. Church service will be held on July 16 at Thames Road at 10:00 a.m. Personals Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of London visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Routly. ’ Marty Traquair is a patient in University Hospital. the Merner family met at the Dashwood Community Pavilion on Sunday, July 9 for their annual reunion. President Mrs. Donna Hoffman welcomed the families and conducted a short business meeting, before a delicious smorgasbord dinner was enjoyed by all. During dinner a minute of silence was held in memory of those who no longer are with us. The afternoon was spent enjoying the sports, under the direction of Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Merner, Exeter and Mr. & Mrs. Ron Merner, Dashwood, The 27th annual Merner reunion will be held next year, the second Sunday in July at the Dashwood Pavilion. Marg Parsons and Janis Oak Park, Michigan, Maida Baynham, Exeter and Pearl Kraft were hostesses for a miscellaneous shower at Pearl Kraft's home for Janice MacDonald, Lis towel, bride-elect of July. Recuperates at Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY Miss Cindy Prest spending a few days with her parents while recuperating from injury. United Church held their July meeting in the basement of the church. Mrs. Jack Hodgson took charge of the business and members answered the roll call. Plans were made for the wedding and barbecue. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Steve Dixon (Betty Adair) who were married on Saturday in the Brinsley United Church. Mr. & Mrs. George Prest held a party for Tom and Elaine Daley. Several relatives and friends at­ tended. Mrs. Eva Allison returned recently from a vacation in Edmonton. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis and Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis attended the decoration service on Sunday afternoon in Parkhill Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to Mr. & Mrs. Bill Morley in the loss of the latter’s brother, Lawrence (Larry) Voislin of Sarnia who passed away last Wednesday. To the strains of Romeo and Juliet, played by Miss Brenda Ballantyne, Trudy was escorted to a decorated chair by Mrs. Ballantyne. Mrs. William Rohde was chairlady for the evening. Miss Brenda Ballantyne played a piano solo. A humorous skit “The Family Album" was played by Mrs. Donald Bray, Miss Janet Bray, Mrs. Howard Cun­ nington, Miss Joyce Cun­ nington, Miss Connie Jef­ fery, Mrs. Barry Jeffery, Mrs. Barry Milter, Mrs. David Passmore, Miss Nancy Richardson. Mrs. Lome Ballantyne gave a reading, Mrs. David Passmore read a nicely worded address and Miss Wendy Ballantyne pulled in a decorated wagon laden with gifts. Miss Shelly Milter’ also assisted. After opening her gifts Trudy thanked all those present. Mrs. David Passmore conducted a game after which cake and ice­ cream were served. Personals On Sunday morning quite a number of people from Thames Road attended the church service in song at Elimville United Church. Sunday July 16, the church service will be held at Thames Road at 10 a.m. Mr. Fred Johns returned on Sunday after having been a patient in Seaforth Hospital. Get well wishes are extended. Mrs. William Rohde ac­ companied Mrs. Helen Jones and Mrs. John Metiers last Wednesday to the Ball Funeral Home, Clinton where they paid their respects to the late Milton Wilts . Nancy is being married this Saturday to Dwight Hargreaves. At time of writing, Carl Hume is a patient in a hospital in Windsor. We wish him a speedy recovery.
