There were thousands of
cartons of Campbells soup
and Heinz ketchup, and
countless cartloads of wafer
board from the paper mill.
In the afternoon the
teachers enjoyed a cruise of
the harbour Kaministitivia
River viewing the grain
elevators and iron ore
docks. Old elevators built
along the river had poor
foundations and are now*
sinking and abandoned.
Newer elevators in the Port
Arthur area are founded
upon rock.
Old Fort William, the
restored Northwest Com

traders from the West met
the traders from Montreal,
about this time of year.
After seeing history in Fort
William, the group was
taken to Mt. McKay, at an
elevation of 1200 feet. One
could see for miles over the
Thunder Bay area and study
the problems of transporta
tion.
Mr. McClure took 250
coloured slides which he will
use in his geography and
history classes.

PROMOTE FESTIVAL
While Zurich Switzerland
should be well known in
England, the same could not
be said for the community
with the same, name on the
other side of the Atlantic.
This may change as the
Zurich Bean Festival will be
a part of an exhibition at
Ontario House in London
England depicting Ontario’s
white bean industry.
The display which is to be
set up sometime in the fall,
will feature pictures and
description of the bean
festival.
