While it was the final week of school the students still displayed a great deal of enthusiasm throughout the production and their per­ formance spoke of much hard work and discipline. Lead roles were played by Jim Fletcher, Bill Ingham, Marcy Romyn, Wendy Currie, Rob Devlugt and Wendy Brunner. Others in the cast included Rob McBeth, Charlene Kydd, Paul Jamieson, Kenton Otterbein, Connie Thomson, Stephan Aszalos, Mike Bates, Louis Ravelle, Monica Beer, Dean Bender and Jonathan Arnel. other gymnastic movements to music. The group is composed entirely of senior citizens and most are from London. They delighted the over 200 people who gathered on the spacious lawns of the Nur­ sing Home to Celebrate “Family Night” as part of the Senior Citizens Week celebrations. Songs of tlie British Isles found many tapping their toes and clapping their hands. Dance numbers and instrumentals were included in the program. G. McIntyre Following the music all were invited to an outdoor buffet lunch prepared by the dietary staff of the nursing home. A ceramic door prize was won by Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Morley while Agnes Noyes, resident of Craigholme, won the draw for a hand made shawl made by Mrs. Fern from England. To peel, crackle the shell by tapping gently all over, then start peeling at the large end. Holding the egg under cold running water also helps to ease off the shell. Try these easy-but-good recipes featuring hard- cooked eggs: Cheesy Macaroni Salad 3 cups cooked spiral or elbow macaroni 6 hard-cooked eggs, chopped 3 ounces cheddar cheese, cubed 1 cup thinly-sliced celery 1 cup mayonnaise 2 tbsp, finely-chopped green onion ’/2 tsp. dry mustard ’/z tsp. salt 3 tbsp, toasted slivered almondsToptional) When macaroni is cooked, rinse with cold water and drain. Combine eggs, cheese, celery, mayonnaise, onion, dry mustard and salt. Stir in macaroni. Sprinkle with almonds; chill. Makes 6 servings. Good Egg Dip 8 hard-cooked eggs, wedged l>/2 cups dairy sour cream 3 tbsp, parsley, finely chopped 1 tbsp, grated onion 2 tsp. lemon juice 1 tsp. salt r4 tsp. cayenne pepper 3 drops hot pepper sauce Combine ingredients in blender container ; cover and blend until of desired consistency. Chill until serving time to blend flavours. Serve with assorted crackers, chips or fresh vegetable dippers. Makes approximately 3 cups. If blender is not available, finely chop eggs and thoroughly combine with remaining ingredients. Pentecostal ladies complete penny test The June W.M.C. meeting of the Exeter Pentecostal Church was held at the home of Mrs. Keith McLaren. Mrs. McLaren presided over the service and led in the hymn “The Lily of the Valley” and the chores, ‘‘All that I Need.” The roll call was taken and answered by a scripture verse on a flower. There were 16 ladies present. The business was tran­ sacted. It was decided to send money to adopted missionaries and also to our head office missionary fund. Mrs. Estrella Finkbeiner’s team won for saving pennies. New teams were chosen again. The losing team provides a picnic supper for the winning side. Mrs. Hilda Bodaly'gave a Missionary reading, “The playground lady of Manning Street.” Mrs. Cecil Kipfer gave the message of the afternoon entitled “Boomerangs from the Bible”, texts Matt. 7:1-5 and Luke 6:36-42. Mrs. Mabel Jeffery gave a piano selection entitled “He leadeth Me”. A session of prayer. Lunch was served by the hostess and provided by Molly Waddell and Mabel Jeffery. EXETER POTTER IN SHOW From Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9 Stratford plays host to the Festival of Arts and Crafts. Established six years ago, the Festival of Arts and Crafts has taken its place as one of the leading crafts festivals in Canada. This year 70 craftsmen from Ontario and Quebec, chosen especially by a jury for the outstanding quality of their work, will display and sell their crafts. Among them is Exeter potter, Kaaren Batten. Blown glass, wooden toys, weaving, batik and pottery are among the wide variety of beautiful articles waiting to tempt the the public. A new addition this year to the Festival of Arts and Crafts is “Le Boulevard” an attractive French style cafe where visitors to the Festival may be served from the cash bar on Friday and Saturday evenings and enjoy the music of Karen Goren and Eric Mahar, two young folk­ pop singer-guitarists from the Stratford area. “Le Boulevard” will'provide a welcome spot to rest weary feet during the weekend show.
