T-A photo Pick Kirkton contestants On Friday evening, June 2, the Preliminary Juvenile Contest for the Kirkton Graden Party was held at South Perth Centennial School. Approximately 40 children entertained the appreciative audience. The adjudicator, Mrs. Marianne MacCaffrey, Exeter, was introduced by the chairman of the evening, Gerald Paul of Kirkton. Seventeen finalists were chosen by Mrs. MacCaffrey, to appear at the Garden Party at Kirkton on July 19. At that time cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in the three classes — vocal, instrumental, and specialty. The finalists are as follows: Susan Vanderspek, RR 1 Woodham; Linda Bryan, RR 2 Granton; Scott Triebner, RR 1 Lucan; Pina Vecchio, 425 Riverside Drive, London; Stephanie Hayter, Lucan; Jo-Anne Wilhelm, RR 1 Stratford; Tony Wilhelm, RR 1 Stratford; and Linda Knechtel, RR 1 Shakespeare. Jane, who received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Aichaeology is presently working in Toronto where she lives with her hus­ band, John Becker. She is continuing her studies towards a master's degree at York University. Dianne received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology at the May 31 convocation.
