One of the two new teams this year the Carpetbaggers, are keeping pace with a total of six points. Only one point behind the carpet crew are Usborne while the Times Advocate is struggling along in seventh spot with four points. Occupying the cellar is another of the new entries, ' Mt. Carmel. In action this past week Hensall doubled up Usborne 8-4, Gords defeated the Carpetbaggers 10-7 and Dashwood Industries nipped the T-A 5-4. On Monday, Hensall beat Gords 7-3, the Carpetbaggers edged Usborne 8-6, the Crescent Rolls tripled the score on the T-A 18-6 and Dashwood Industries walloped Mt. Carmel 36-7. HxOTi °?G? The overall junior winner will take home a 1978 Rm Suzuki and the top schoolboy will win an all-expense week at the Gary Bailley motocross school at Hully Gully. The school starts June 26 and is being conducted by world renowned motocross racer, teacher and author Prof. Gary Bailley of Acton, Virginia. I Radio Shaeli Mr. Bailley teaches six months each year and Canada is fortunate to have his motocross skills at this week-long training session. All aspects of motocross from before race day preparation to diet, training and riding are included. The cost including room and board is $200. IfARNESSRACESThe Dashwood Tigers went on a batting rampage this week scoring a total of 45 runs as they picked up two victories in three Huron- Perth baseball outings. Friday night on their home field, the Tigers downed the Thorndale seniors by a score of 14-4, Sunday in Lambeth they dropped a 6-5 decision to the Byron juniors and Monday night they ran roughshod over the Thorn­ dale juniors 25-3. In their only outing this coming week, the Tigers will be at home Friday night to the London Diamonds. Game time is 8 p.m. In running over the Thorndale juniors 25-3 the Dashwood club scored in every inning but the second, collecting 20 hits. Jim Dietrich led the attack with four hits, all singles. Noel Skinner and Barry Baynham were next with three hits apiece and playing MASON HEADS TRAP SHOOTERS Larry Mason with a score of 24 led the claybird gun club trap competition Wednesday. Jody Mosurinjohn with a ) score of 23 was the runnerup. Rick Schroeder and Kit­ chener Pavlick were deadlocked for third spot with 21 each. Grant with 19, scored 18, Glen Vickery had a 15, Darrell Preszcator scored 13 and Eric Delves had'a score of four. plate hit a home run, double and two singles. Next in the 15 hit Dash­ wood attack came Rob Dickey and Jim Dietrich with three hits apiece. John Hayter was next with two hits, but, they were big ones. He collected five runs batted in with home run blasts in the first and fourth innings. Adding one hit each were Tom Hayter, Doug Fairbairn and Barry Baynham. FASTBALL manager Glen Thurman and John Hayter each added two base hits. Getting one hit apiece were Rob Dicey, Perry Stover and Doug Fairbairn. Bob Hoffman was the victorious Dashwood pitcher holding the opposition to only five well scattered hits. Barry Baynham with three singles and two runs led the Tigers in their 6-5 losing cause to Byron. The winning run came in the bottom of the seventh. Singles by Barry Baynham, Noel Skinner and Jim Dietrich allowed the Tigers to score three runs in the second inning. The other two Tiger tallies came in the fourth and were produced by a single by Noel Skinner and a single by Baynham. Perry Stover was the starting and losing pitcher for Dashwood. He allowed only seven hits. Jim Guenther led the Tigers at the plate and on the pitching hill in Friday’s 14-4 decision over Thorndale. Guenther held the op­ position to seven well scattered hits and at the Ladies gross to Jo Vallis Jo Vallis was the low gross winner at Tuesday’s ladies competition at the Exeter Golf and Country club.
