IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Miss Patricia (Pat) Bender, bride of May 27 was honored on several oc­ casions prior to her wed­ ding. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bender held Open House for relatives, neighbours and friends. Diane Richardson, niece of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Receiving guests with Pat were her mother and mother of the groom Mrs. Don Watson. Showing trousseau, gifts and serving were Elizabeth Bender, Mary Anne Bender and Phyllis Bender. Pat was also guest of honor at four miscellaneous showers. Elizabeth Bender, Crediton, niece of the bride, was hostess for relatives and friends of the bride. Mrs. Don Bender was hostess at her home for cousins of the bride. Susan Dunn was hostess at her parents’ home, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Grigg for girl friends of the bride. Mrs. Ralph Weber, Mrs. Jessie Rader and Mrs. Don Gaiser were hostesses at the United Church for neighbors and members of the U.C.W. Pat very graciously thanked everyone for the lovely gifts. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Gould, Windsor, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bell Chandler. Mrs. Ervin Eckstein has returned home following eye surgery in Victoria Hospital. Twelve members of the church council and Pastor Allen Schade of Christ Our King Lutheran Church, Mississauga spent a weekend at the V. L. Becker Summer Retreat at Varna. ART HODGINS Jeanie and Glenn Newton and girls moved to their new home in London last week. Anne and Rick Rollings and baby Wesley James, have purchased the Newton home and moved in on the weekend. Albert Thompson, Lucan is taking up residence in the apartment vacated by the Rollings’. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morley, Hazel Park, Michigan were Saturday visitors with the former’s sister, Jean and Art Hodgins and family. Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Williams were dinner guests Sunday at a birthday party for their grand children Tonya and Shane Williams, Lobo. Beryl and Lyle Shipley, Ottawa are spending a few days with the former’s sister, Mary and Wilmer Scott. Mrs. Murray Carter is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mrs. Gerald Lynn and Mrs. Jerry Noyes were among the supper guests entertained by the McGillivray Central School teachers Tuesday evening in appreciation of their par­ ticipation as assisting mothers during the school year. Those from this area that completed the nine mile Bible Society walkathon Saturday were Kim, Tracey and Jill Cunningham, Catherine, Cheryl and Bonnie Lynn, Tami Noyes, Michelle and Glenda Cun­ ningham, Elizabeth and Christine Markus and Michael Armstrong.
