Roll Call was an­ swered by naming a safety tip. Members discussed an invitation to attend the Women’s Institute meeting at Zurich June 5, a bus trip for July in the Kitchener area and the luncheon for the Ausable Conservation Authority on the occasion of the official opening of the park at the river June 7. Mrs. Gerald Dearing reported on the officers’ conference held in Waterloo the first week of May. Tickets are to be secured for attendanc, at the Huron Country Playhouse July 18 to 22. Mrs. Hubert Cooper was appointed to the kitchen committee. Mrs. Glenn Hodgins chaired the programme, and discussed the motto “Safety, you can carry it with you.” Mrs. Don Davey read a poem on safety. Jim Hoffman, guest speaker, spoke ’on the sub­ ject of first aid and emergency situations. Know the ambulance number, and, until it arrives, work to keep the patient breathing. Mrs. Reg Finkbeiner moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Hoff­ man. Lunch was served by the April programme committee. Zion United Church Zion United Church celebrated its anniversary Sunday with the Jones Family of Bradenton, Florida, ministering in song and testimony. Mr. Jones conducted a teaching seminar in the afternoon, while members of his family ministered to the children who were present. Bruce Pierce brought a message on the necessity of looking ahead during an anniversary celebration. Flowers in the church were arranged by Mrs. Ray Morlock and Mrs. Armin Schlenker. There was also a bouquet in memory of Elgin Ortwein, brother of Mrs. Clarence Fahner. 4H meets Crediton Club 4 met at Sullivan’s in Mt. Carmel for their second meeting. Roll call was :“The reasons I plant and grow a garden are _ After choosing the name Vegies, the girls discussed the preparation of a garden, and good mulches to use. They learned how fertilizers are graded for their content. The discussion moved quickly because Bill Rammeloo had covered the topic thoroughly at Achievement Day. The next meeting will be June 6 at McClure’s. Personals Mrs. Marguerite Fink­ beiner has returned from a trip to Sherwood Park, Alberta. She attended the christening ceremony for Jason, son of Mr. & Mrs. Brian Finkbeiner. Saturday the firemen were called to the farm of McCann to which had barn. Monday Crediton firemen arranged a fireworks display in the community field. Mrs. Beulah Sparling, Walkerton, was weekend guest with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Morlock. Thursday evening members of the UCW were guests of the UCW at Cen­ tralia to hear Mrs. Ray Austin tell of her experiences in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Sunday the Crediton and district men’s social club went by chartered bus to Toronto to attend the ball game between the New York Yankees and the Bluejays. Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Desjardine, Carleen and friend of Huron Park, Mrs. Trellis Little and Earl Stebbins enjoyed a picnic Sunday in Pinery Park and celebrated Maurice’s bir­ thday. Weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Keller were Mr. & Mrs. Don Keller, Goderich, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Gibson and Mark, Crediton and a grandson Larry Gibson of New Hamburg. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker Jr., Bonnie, Shellie and Tracey, Stratford visited with his parents and other area friends on the weekend. Lenore and Jim Orr visited Sunday afternoon with Hugh and Annie Morenz. Harry Comfort, Welland spent the week-end with his cousins Mr. and Mrs. Mike Ericson. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Anger, Welland who were recently married spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Terry Pickering, JUstin and Jennifer. Sunday evening visitors with Mrs. Trellis Little and Earl Stebbins, were two of her daughter-in-laws and grandchildren, Mrs. Bob Little and Lee Anne, St. Thomas and Mrs. Philip Little, Colleen Jennifer and Angela, Strathroy. Little Angela was just home from St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, where she was confined with meningitis. Bob and Philip Little at­ tended a ball game in Detroit, Sunday. Esther and Edwin Snyder spent the holiday weekend at Joy Camp north of Toronto.
