She was the widow of the late G. Emmerson Wenzel and together they operated a barber shop at Crediton for over 45 years. Mr. Wenzel passed away in 1970 after whicn time she came to live in Listowel. Garrett J. Koskamp, RR 1 St. Marys, was fined $100 or 10 days for taking a screw­ driver valued at $8.95. In addition, Koskamp was fined $100 for being in possession of narcotics on February 18 and $200 or 20 days on a mischief charge. The latter was laid after the accused broke a plate glass window at the Exeter OPP office on December 18. He was ordered to make restitution for the damage and was placed on probation for six months. David R. Luxton, Exeter, was given a conditional dis­ charge on a theft, charge laid after he took a book from a local variety store. He was also placed on probation for six months. A charge of careless driv­ ing against Stephen Scott Banks, Stratford, was dis­ missed due to lack of evidence. He had been charged followiing a fatal accident on Highway 83 east of Exeter on December 23. The accident claimed the life of Peter Allan Rees, 157 Main St., Exeter. Fines of $250 were levied against four drivers who pleaded guilty to driving while their blood alcohol contept was over 80 mgs in Exeter court, Tuesday. However, the stiffest fine was a $300 total paid by Mark Eric Bulgin, RR 1 Ailsa Craig, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on July 9 of last year. The court learned he had been driving while standing up in his vehicle, with his body protruding through the sun roof. Evasive action had to be taken by other drivers due to the erratic driving of the accused. In addition to the fine, Bulgin had his licence suspended for three months by Judge W. G., Cochrane. The Ailsa Craig man was given 90 days in which to pay the fine. The drinking drivers con­ victed in Tuesday’s court were Joseph William Miller, RR 1 Dashwood; Leonard Ambrose Debus, Zurich; Robert Watson, Huron Park and Raymond Gordon Snell, Centralia. In addition to the $250 fines, each had his licence suspended for three months. Miller had a breathalizer reading of 138 mgs, while it was 180 for Debus and 224 for Watson. Each man was given time in which to pay the fine. A fine of $100 or 10 days was levied against Maura Jude McVeeney, Ailsa Craig, who was charged with creating a disturbance in a public place on March 28. The accused had been refused service at an area liquor outlet because of previous trouble and proceeded to use obscene language and threw a glass. Gary Laverne Williams, also of Ailsa Craig, was fin­ ed $200 on a charge of obstructing a police officer. The officer was attempting to make an arrest of another person, when Williams grabbed at his clothing. He was given 60 days to pay the fine. Paying the same amount was Stephen Mark Hooper, Ailsa Craig,, who was in­ volved in the same incident and was also charged with obstructing a police officer.
