Where can you share and experience the learning process with your children? You can do this and more at the Lucan and district co operative Nursery School. It is located in the Lucan United Church. Next year we hope to have two - two day programs and one - three day program. Here the children have an opportunity to foster their creativity, socialize with their peers and learn in an environment geared es pecially to pre-school children. Special visitors such as an O.P.P. officer, an am bulance driver, a dental hygenist added dimension to the program. Various field trips were undertaken throughout the year. A trip to the orchard, the Public library, the fire hall, local farms, the London market and the Children’s museum were just some of the excur- sions enjoyed by the children. T-A photo Mission and service talk features service at UC A Mission and Service “minute talk” was given Sunday by Mrs. David Park covering three points. That one-fifth of the year’s objec tive has been reached, that we have accepted five “Live Love” projects to the extent of one-half our objective, the first in London Conference for the Jail Chaplaincy in Windsor; in Canada, the Parish Worker in East Labrador; overseas, the United Church of Jamaica, Glrand Cayman; and World Development, Service and Relief, to give help any place in the world when a specific need arises. The third point was the date of the “Dedication to Mission Sunday”, May 28 when each group makes its special presentation of gifts and tells briefly of its pro jects. Rev. Keith Brown com menced a new series of ser mons the first being “How to ‘Act’ Like a Christian”. “The new members who were received into fellowship of the congrega tion last Sunday,” he said, “received a new life in Christ, but they have only begun”. Mr. Brown told the con gregation that many Christians are still “babies in Christ” long after they should have become produc tive Christians. He said, “Christians cannot stand still, it is like riding a bike, if you do not go forward you fall”. The choir, under the direc tion of Helen Brown sang the anthem “If That Isn’t Love” The Church Nursery is still in need of toys. If your children have outgrown some which are still in good condition, bring them along with you next Sunday. Also bring your favourite dessert recipe for the Friendship Unit cook book.
