Enrbute home, they stopped in Fairhope, Alabama for a visit with Mrs. Latta’s relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hammond. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kestle are back from a two month vacation in Florida. The Clandeboye softball team had a ball game at the arena Friday night. After the game they gathered at the home of Jerry and Elaine Noyes, for lunch and to organize for the coming season. Church News Mr. Peter Snell, student minister from the Ailsa Craig charge took the ser­ vice in Clandeboye and Lucan United Churches Sunday while Rev. Keith Brown was in charge of Communion services in Mr, Snell’s churches. Rev. James, London was in charge of services at St. James church, Clandeboye as well as Holy Trinity in Lucan, while Rev. Holfland is in Holland visit with relatives. Plan to attend Canadian Cancer Society meeting to be held at Lucan Public School, Thursday evening, April 6 at 8p.m. The guest speakers will be Dr. Meredith and Dr. Marshall. RENA CALDWELL KIPPEN Kippen II Busy Buddies held their 4-H club meeting at the Brucefield Church Hall. Meeting opened with the 4-H pledge and the roll call, “How could I define a good citizen?’’ Mrs. Finlayson told about “Basic Freedom” which is found in the members pamphlet. Things affected by law and kinds of govern­ ment was given by Mrs. Roberts, who also showed pictures of the various responsibilities of the Provincial Federal and Municipal governments and had the members identify them. A homework question­ naire sheet on government was discussed. This was a special night as over 100 members from surrounding clubs came to hear the provincial member of parliament Jack Riddell speak. He showed a film and afterwards added more in­ formation on government. This was followed by a ques­ tion and answer period; after which a delicious lunch was served. Kippen II Busy Buddies held their 4-H meeting March 27th at the home of Mrs. Roberts. Mrs. Roberts gave some important pointers on poisonous plants found around the house and garden and poisons found around ' the home. She showed a film on “Safety on the road, in the home and at play”. Mrs. Wilson told how to store food in the home. Personals Mrs. Emerson Kyle un­ derwent surgery in St. Joseph’s Hospital, London during the past week. Mrs. Percy Wright is a patient in South Huron Hospital following a fall. Jack Swartz, Hillsgreen, underwent surgery during the past week. John E. Caldwell is holidaying in Puerto Rico. Susanne and Gary Smith. Michelle, Billy and Bobby Vandeworp raised $32 for Bunny Bundle by selling tickets on a cake and brow­ nies. Mrs. Harold Stire won the cake and Lloyd Smith the brownies. They thank every one who helped them in their project. Bridal shower Sharon Rader, bride-elect of April was feted with two showers. On Sunday, relative, friends and neighbors of the bride gathered at Dashwood Com­ munity centre for a mis- cellanious -shower. Hostesses were Nancy Rader, June Miller and Susan Rader. On Monday, relative and neighbors of the groom and co-workers of the bride gathered at Mrs. Frank Bennett’s house for a surprise shower. Hostesses were Eva and Jackie Hendley and Susan Rader Sharon thanked everyone for the beautiful gifts and in­ vited them to her “Open House” April 23. Several people from Dashwood took in the festival. Word was received here by relatives that Mrs. Ernest Hutchinson passed away in Calgary. Alberta. Saturday. April 1 in her 69th year. She was the former Ethel Hartleib. born and raised in Dashwood. She and her family lived here several years. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wolfe and Mark, Dorchester, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe. Edwin Martene returned home from St. Joseph’s hospital, Monday. Vickie Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Miller left for Europe this week after a six week stay at home. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Gamble.
