James Somerville of London in conducting the Easter Service in the United Church on Sunday morning. Com­ munion was observed during the service. Rev. Somerville in his story to the children, described some of his work among the children of Haiti and Hong Kong and asked his listeners to pray (or the children of the world. Rev. Somerville delivered an inspiring Easter message on the subject, “How do we know thdt Jesus is Alive?" The choir sang an anthem and the offertory music was an organ and piano duet by Mr. Gill and Mary Lou Tasko. The church was decorated with Easter lilies and pots of mums. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed in the church in memory of the late Billy Rader of Grand Bend. Mr. & Mrs. Borden Smyth and Mr. & Mrs. James Gaunt returned home on Saturday following a three week’s vacation in Flbrida. Lynn and Lori Cronyn accompanied their sister Gayle Cronyn and Mrs. Jerry Wilhelm of Stratford on a trip to Florida for the holidays. While his sisters were seeing the sights in Florida Mark Cronyn was on a trip to Hawaii with high school students. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Vogan, Mrs. Roy Vogan and Shawn Taylor were Good Friday visitors with Mrs. Fred Cunnington and entertained her to dinner at the Burkley Restaurant in Exeter. Easter Sunday visitors with Mrs. Cunnington were Mr. & Mrs. Howard Cunnington and family of Thames Road. Susan Jaques of Granton and Lori Reid, London spent a couple of days last week with their grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bowden. On Thursday they had as visitors Mrs. Chas. Spendiff and her granddaughter, Trina Knott, Stratford. Guesfe at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Lobb, over the Easter weekend were Mr. & Mrs. Joe McBride of Caledonia and Mr. & Mrs. Kirk Lyndon and Christopher, Goderich. Mrs. Edythe Mugford and Jamie of Lucan attended the Easter service in the United Church on Sunday morning with her father, Mr. Murray Abbott, who accompanied her home and spent the day with her. Tracey Soldan of Grand Bend spent a few days last week with her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Lightfoot and Easter Sunday dinner guests were Mr. & Mrs. Pat i Soldan and Jason. Tracey I returned home with her parents. Mr. & Mrs. Don Hirtzel and Dalphine of Parkhill were Good' Friday guests, Mr. & Mrs. Karl Keller and Hurondale 4-H hear speaker The seventh meeting of Hurondale IV was held at the home of Mrs. Nethercott Wednesday. The meeting was opened with the 4-H pledge. Eight members were present at this meeting. Ronnalee Bogart read the minutes of the last meeting. The members then took turns reading in the mem­ bers pamphlet. We discussed our plans for our play for Achievement Day. Mrs. J. Delbridge was guest speaker at ’ this meeting. Mrs. Irene Lawson was a guest over the weekend at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred Huntable, Mr. & Mrs. Borden Smyth and Mrs. Mary Jane Crone, Exeter visited the Hinnegan and O’Neil Funeral Home in London on Sunday to pay respect to the late Carl W. Wasnidge. Easter Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Morgan were Mr. & Mrs. Burton Morgan and family, Kitchener. Miss Elaine Powe, St. Catharines was a week end guest at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Powe. Mrs. Hugh Theander, Miss Joanne Smyth and Mr. Frank Smyth attended the funeral of the latter’s nephew, the late Carl W. Wasnidge in London, Monday. Mr. Mrs. Fred Bowden were Easter Sunday dinner guests with Mrs. Barry Reid and girls in London. A meeting of the Official Board of the Centralia-Zion West Pastoral charge will be held in the Centralia United Church on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Presbytery Officials will be in at­ tendance so a good at­ tendance of board members is requested. Senior Citizens are reminded of the meeting in the Community Centre on Monday afternoon. TEMPLEMAN STAFFA Mrs. Gordon Scott was hostess for the March meeting .of the Marion Ritchie Evening Auxiliary held in her home Tuesday evening with 12 ladies present. Mrs. Carter Kerslake presided and opened with an Easter message and hymn, Mrs. Bob Laing provided the accompaniment on her accordion for the hymns. . Mrs. Gordon Scott gave the scripture reading followed by prayer. During business prices were set for making and quilting quilts. Mrs. Tom Scott gave a report of the executive meeting held recently in Stratford and a note of in­ troduction from our 1978 Presbyterial visitor was read. Mrs. Scott introduced the study book on the Carib­ bean giving us a insight into the Islands and their people. Mrs. Philip James gave a special on the story of the Holy Land. Mrs. Duncan Scott gave a paper on the Story of Revival for her topic. Personals Mrs. Rob Templeman and baby daughter “Carrah Dawn” returned home from Stratford General Hospital on Saturday. Misses Marion Smale and Ruth Harburn were among the Mitchell District High School students who enjoyed a holiday in Spain on the Easter break. Mr. & Mrs. Eric Norris, Sean, Michael and Erin, Baie d’ Urfe’, Quebec, visited on the weekend with Mrs. Sam Norris and Mr. & Mrs. Bob Norris and family. Darlene Templeman, London spent the weekend with her family. Visiting Easter Sunday were Mr. & Mrs. Dale Martyn and girls, Hank Bertens, Russeldale, Mrs. Jim Neilson, Stratford and John Arts, Seaforth. Mr. & Mrs. Hap Swatridge and Jill, Wingham, and Miss Beth Germaine and Dennis Stewart, Toronto visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Rob Templeman and Carrah. Mr. & Mrs. Dan Cronin, Mark and Jennifer hplidayed this past week in Florida visiting with Mrs. Cronins' father Alec Baker in Fort Myers and spending a day at Disney World on the way home. Mrs. Spencer Jeffery discussed first aid in emergencies with the girls doing the following demonstratiops;.Jill Norris, poison swallowed; Elizabeth Templeman, breathing stopped; Ruth Harburn, adult choking; Nancy Templeman, child and infant choking; Pauline Jordon, mild and severe burns; Marianne Vanderfiet, stop bleeding; Shirley Miller, animal bites; Caroline O’Reilly, insect stings; Marlene O’Reilly, fainting. Mrs. Jeffery demonstrated what to keep in a first aid kit. Mrs. Vivian discussed babysitting and child care, parents responsibilities and getting along with children. She then told about babysitters information cards. Mrs. Bruce Dow was present with her nine month old baby boy Ricky and demonstrated bathing, feeding and general child care for the girls. Mrs. Spencer Jeffery hosted the eighth meeting of the Staffa No. I club March 16 with 11 girls answering the roll call. Mrs. Jeffery read a poem “Sitting Pretty” from the members pamphlet. Mrs. George Vivian discussed “Why we keep fit” and “How to keep fit”. All members sang the action song complete with motions. Mrs. Jeffery discussed what to eat and why? guidelines to meal planning and the Canada food guide. Pictures were shown to illustrate the food guide. Personals Steven Horst, Brodhagen, visited on the weekend with Robert Norris, Susan Norris visted on the weekend with Judy Norris, Brampton. Mr. & Mrs. John Tem­ pleman and Barbara visited Sunday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Neilson, Stratford, Darlene Templeman London. was visiting at the same home.
