Beans spill over before

Traffic at the intersection
of Highways 4 and 83 at
Elginfield was slowed down
for about 18 hours over the
weekend after a transport
truck rolled over.
The truck owned by
Dorner Transport of
Chatham making-a left turn
onto Highway 7 tipped over
when the load of bagged
white beans shifted. Driver
Michael Dorner was not
injured.
The 450 bags of beans were
from the W. G. Thompson

were being hauled to Mon
treal on the way to their final
destination in Angola.
The mishap occurred at
10.40 p.m. Sunday and the
beans were removed and the

freezing rain was falling at
the time.
Shortly after midnight a
vehicle driven by Marianne
Koszycki, London left
Adelaide street between
Concessions 9 and 10 in
London township and rolled
over. Freezing fain was
again a contributing factor.
Constable N. A. Campbell
listed damages at $800.
About an hour later on
Highway 4, a mile north of
Arva, vehicles driven by
Polly McIntyre, Lucan and
George Armstrong, Exeter
collided. Both drivers
received minor injuries.

driving was in collision with
two parked cars.

The inter-town bowling
team travelled to Zurich
Saturday and after winning
the first game, lost the next
four in a row to come away
with just two points.
By winning just the one,
Lucan assured themselves
of finishing in second place
and maybe even first,
depending on what Mike’s
from Stratford does. Lucan
was six points ahead of
them, but Mike’s was bowl
ing in St. Marys Saturday
and they also have a makeup
week with another Stratford
team.
Two more
breakins
Officers of the Lucan
detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police are in
vestigating two breakin
attempts.
Sometime Sunday night an
attempt was made to break
in the Becker’s milk store in.
Lucan resulting in damage
to a door but no entry was
gained.
Entry was made at the
Denfield sales barn. Only a
few cans of soft drinks were
reported missing.

at an auction sale at the
Masonic hall in Ilderton. An
unknown person using an
assumed name purchased
several articles and left
without paying for them.'
Constable G.N. Wilcox is
investigating. Value of the
articles was $229.
Charges are being con
sidered in three recent acts
of wilful damage as suspects
are known in each instance.
Next week we will know
when the play-offs will start
and where we will be bowl

play-offs.
