“A Touch of Spring”
concert will be presented by
the Huronia Singers, April 8
and 9 at the Exeter Town
Hall.
The Singers, made up of
about 40 mixed voices have
been preparing for this
spring event for several
weeks. They sing under the
direction of Mrs. Marianne
McCaffrey and have brought
fine entertainment to the
community for many years.
Their spring concert will
be made up of love songs
pertaining to the spring
season, including works
from The Sound of Music and
The Candy Man. There will
also be a few “nonsense
songs” to add to the variety.
The program will feature
Marguerite McLeod and
Mrs. McCaffrey singing a
group of love songs in
terspersed with dialogue.
Mrs. McCaffrey, who
exudes enthusiasm herself,
says the singers are no less
exuberant themselves.
“Three of our lady singers
postponed going away on
holidays so they could sing
with us. That’s loyalty!”
She also had high praise for
accompanist Mrs. Julie
Easterbrook who, she calls,
“a sparkling pianist”.
Asked how the choir reacts
to bringing the first concert
to the restored town iiall,
Mrs. McCaffrey replied,
“They are really excited
about it. They think it’s
great.”
The concert is being
sponsored by Exeter and
District Heritage Foun
dation and tickets are
available from members or
at Gunn’s Hardware.

The income tax return has
been improved this year,
making it easier for you to do
it yourself. And to make it
even easier, read the six basic
steps in the Guide. You’ll
probably find all you need to
know there. But if you have
any additional questions,
you’ll find the answers in the
detailed portion of the Guide.
And remember:
1.
Include all your original
receipts.
2.
Double check your return
before mailing it. If you have
a refund coming, you’ll get it
sooner if your tax form has
been done accurately.
Go ahead!
