All seniors holding tickets for the “Grand Ole Oprey” on the 24th are reminded to be at the hall at 12:45 sharp. Mrs. Hodgins asked for a better attendance at bowling each Tuesday, and there is room for more card players at the “Coffee Club” for men each Monday morning. A letter of thanks was read from Mrs. Karl O’Neil and get-well cards have been sent to Mrs. Frank Hardy, Sr., and Mrs. M. Lamphier. Birthday greetings were extended" to Mrs. Cecil Robb, Mrs. George Hodgins and Stewart Munro. Readings were given by Mrs. George Hodgins for Mrs. Wm, Salter, Mrs. M. Steeper and Mrs. M. H. Hodgins, the latter two on a St. Patrick’s theme. Mrs. T. Emery was thanked for decorating the hall for the meeting. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Prince were welcomed back after several months and Harold Hodgins was welcomed to his first meeting. The Busy Buddies started to quilt the liquid em­ broidery bird quilt for the Fair as well as working on the ceramics for the craft show April 15 at the Com­ munity Centre. Members of the Sunshine group enjoyed euchre and bridge, with prizes going as follows: High lady, Margaret Alan; ladies lone, Grace Dixon; ladies low, Marie Turner; high man, Gordon Atkinson; man’s lone, Fred Mcllhargey and low, Lon Phillips. The high bridge prize was won by Ivan Stanley. Lunch was served by Olive Atkinson, Jean Miller, John Park and Lon Phillips. Bunny Bundle. A collection of $107.34 was made for Bunny Bundle. The game ended without any injuries but a lot of tired bones. The boys were the winenrs. A Lucan arena booster club was set up with Richard Acres as president, Pat Holland, vice president, Muriel Abbott, treasurer and Sheila Butchart, secretary. Proceeds from their func­ tions will be turned into the arena or playground equipment. Anyone in­ terested please get in touch. The booster club’s first function will be the Ice Carnival on March 31. The carnival will be from 7-9 p.m. with judging starting around 7:30. A hockey game between the Atoms and their fathers will finish off the nite. Everyone skating in the carnival must be in costume. St. Patrick's unlucky for number of area motorists St. Patrick’s Day proved to be a little less than lucky for a number of motorists in Lucan. Five accidents occurred on the» main street of Lucan with a total of 11 vehicles involved. In two of the mishaps, one of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene. Corporal Don Cox and Constable B.D. Munro are in charge of the hit and run investigations, the vehicles which left the scene are believed to be a Chrysler and a light beige Pontiac. during the week damages were estimated at $10,450. The first of three Wed­ nesday accidents occurred at 7:20 a.m. when a vehicle driven by Debra Stephenson, RR 2, Granton left Highway 7, west of Highbury struck a snow bank, stable J.A. Wilson damages at $450. Only five minutes later, vehicles driven by Margaret Hancock, Dashwood and Ettie Ramsay, RR 2, Ailsa Craig collided at Elginfield. Damages were listed at $700 and Con- set CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY — Lucan Legion Branch 540 celebrated its 25th anniversary Saturday. At 3:35 p.m. the same day a school bus and a car collided on Adelaide street at Concession 13 in London township. The driver of the car Mrs. Sherri Gilbert was taken to University Hospital, London by Haskett’s Ambulance suffering from serious in­ juries. . Bus driver Calvin Mar­ shall, RR 4, Denfield and one student1 passenger suffered injuries. Fortunately only two students were on the bus at the time of the accident. Constable Vance estimated damages at $2,800. A vehicle driven by John Jongeneel, RR 8, Parkhill, left Queen Street in Ailsa Craig at 5 a.m. Friday and struck a parked car owned, by Joseph Nash, Ailsa Craig. Constable Wilson listed damages at $2,800. Sunday afternoon at 12:20 p.m. a vehicle driven by David Toth, London and William Damen, RR 3, Lucan were in collision on Highway 23, just north of County road 47. Constable Vance set damages at $3,000. A car driven by Janice Jones and a truck driven by John Craig collided at 3:15 p.m. Monday on a sideroad between Concessions 6 and 7 in West Missouri township.
