Valen tines were distributed to all the children and the cards for Tom and Leslie were packaged along with some cookies from our party. These were delivered to the two boys in person at C.P.R.I, in London. Both boys were pleased to be remembered by their friends. Pancake Tuesday provid ed a good excuse for prepar ing, cooking and eating pan cakes in the classroom. Several of our pupils par ticipated in the Winter Car nival sponsored by the McCurdy School Student Council. The students were organized into different teams with representatives from the Primary grades on each team. Activities in cluded a toboggan relay race, a peanut scramble and a tug of war. The photographer spent a day in the school last week and took individual pictures of all of the pupils. He spent considerable time posing each child and we should see some very good results when the photographs are returned sometime next month. As in the past, parents are under no obliga tion to purchase any of the pictures. After the pictures were taken, the photographer delighted the children by making a dime mysteriously appear in An dy’s pocket! Mr, Bud Stevenson, who teaches woodworking at C.P.R.I. spent a morning with us recently. He had liv ed in Huron Park over 20 years ago when he was a member of the-Armed Forces and was interested in seeing the community and school again. He sent us a nice thank you note with some candies for the children. Tom Masse is back home again after a year’s residence at C.P.R.I. He is able to attend school in the mornings and was warmly welcomed back by all his classmates. . Mrs. McGregor’s pupils are joining the classes from Kindergarten to Grade Four in the gym for a daily rhythmics program. The six minute routine led by the grade 6 teacher, Mr. Brooks, combines music and callisthenics in a variety of exercises. The Primary children use the same rhythmics program in the afternoon recess but follow the exercises as demonstrated on a videotape. One of McCurdy’s grade 7 students was good enough to entertain us with her ven triloquist act. We look forward to having Debbie Piercey and her “partner” back for another perfor mance.
