Township, school to fund
adventure playground
At the last meeting oi
Stanley township council,
the township entered into an
agreement with Huron
Centennial school to aid in
the funding of an adventure
playground near the school
The township which is in
volved in the project
through the recreation com
mittee. will apply fora com
munitv centre’s grant to aid
in the 1 unding of the project
According to Huron
Centennial principal Arnold
Mathers, the actual makeup
of the playground is con
tingent on funds from the
community centres grant. A
Wintario grant and the Ex-

been raised by the teachers

A committee of Huron
county council has approved
the project with county
council yet to give its okay
to the project.
If the funds are forthcom
ing. the project could be
started in June with comple-
tion at the end of the
summer.
A dance has been schedul
ed for the middle of May to
raise funds for the project.
The township will par
ticipate with the town of
Clinton in a ministry of
housing sponsored senior
citizens survey with regards
to the possibility of a geared
to income housing project.
Mel Graham, clerk-
treasurer said that previous
surveys had elicited few
responses from the
residents of Stanley.
Council also announced
tenders for the supply of 16,-
000 cubic yards crushed
gravel will be issued.
Tenders for the supply of 130
tons of calcium chloride will
also be issued.
