Barbara Wein, sponsored by the Exeter Agricultural Society was a contestant in the Farm Show Princess Contest, London. It was a worthwhile experience ’from the point of view alone of meeting the contestants. Besides there was at tendance at a banquet, the excitement of interviews and speeches, and the gift of a souvenir teaspoon to carry away as a memento of a happy occasion. Winston Wilson and Mrs. Gadget Lindsay, London son and daughter of Mrs. Viola Wilson, and Howard Wright, Woodstock were in Crediton Sunday to celebrate Mrs. Wilson’s birthday. The Saturday morning model building club spon sored by Rev. Bruce Pierce has grown to a membership of ten. Dennis and Darrell Preszcator are assisting Rev. Pierce in helping the participants interpret the blueprints. Thursday evening winners of first, second and third place in the public speaking contest at Stephen Central School took part in a contest at Grand Bend, sponsored by the Lions Club. Winners were Mike Fleming, first; Sarah McClure, second; Mary Jo McCann, third. Friday evening members of the Sharon community gathered in the community hall to honour three recently married couples, Mr. & Mrs. Rodger Finkbeiner, Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Riddell and Mr. & Mrs. Larry Parsons. Bill Wagner read the address and gifts were presented. A social time of progressive euchre followed. By MRS. Mrs, Letta Taylor and Mrs. Hugh Boyle part in the service. 4-H meeting The fourth meeting of Dashwood 4-H girls club two was held Monday with the roll call, “How I would define a good citizen?" Mrs. Ray Rader discussed the Canadian Government at different levels and the responsibilities of each. The leaders checked the record books and helped the girls with their projects. The next meeting will be held this Monday. Kitchener, called on relatives here, Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Roland Gibson and family entertained with a dinner, those -who in any way helped building and moving into their new home at Denfield. The Kellers also pleasantly surprised “Mom" Keller on her 70th birthday when she was presented with a little box full of “Love" and a family ring. Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Keller, Goderich, were unable to be with the family as they were attending a newspaper convention in Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Boyle took Trevor Riddell of the Exeter Ban tam B team to Fonthill on the weekend where they com peted in play-offs winning one and losing one. They also visited Niagara Falls. Mrs. Maxine (Delmar) Miller and Mrs. Trish Cant of Grand Bend held a reunion after 14 years of not knowing where the other one lived. Both girls were friends during their school years in Sarnia. They met unex pectedly in a grocery store and aftei' having lunch together Monday, they were amazed at how much they still have in common.
