The locals evened the best-of-five series with a 5-3 win on Saturday, but Pelham regained the lead with a 4-3 triumph on Sun day. Fourth game in the quarter final series will be played at the rec centre this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and if the fifth game is necessary it will be at 12:30 noon on Sunday. In Saturday’s opener at the Nia’gara Falls area town, the locals scored two goals in the last three minutes to win their first game of the series. Mark Vandergunst fired the winner on a play with Mike Clark and Bruce Shaw, and then the latter two set up the insurance marker by Mike Murray in the last minute. Drawing assists on the other three goals were Jim Siddall, Steve Prout, Jamie Chaffe and Clark. Exeter jumped into a 1-0 lead in Sunday’s game on a goal by Al Hodgert, but the home crew then rattled four straight into the cage before Exeter came back late in the period to pull to within one tally. Jim Siddall and Mark Vandergunst were the triggermen on the final two tallies, while picking up assists were Pincombe, Chaffe and Clark. Split in playoff The squad also competed in the Shamrock “B” playoffs this week, winning one of two contests. Their third game was defaulted to them by Dorchester.
