Mrs. Milford Prouty led in the hymns “Standing on the Promises” and “The Light of the World.” Mrs. Bruce Cann opened the meeting in prayer. The roll call was taken by Mrs. Don Reynolds and answered by a scripture verse on “esteem”. Business was transacted and it was decided to send money for Christian literature for the foreign field. Mrs. Mabel Jeffery gave a Missionary reading about a leader in foreign Missions Abe Reddekopp. The speaker for the after­ noon was Mrs. Hilda Eizenga who gave a message entitled, “The Man God Uses.” We then had a season of prayer. TEMPLEMAN Mrs. Bert Daynard and Mrs. Charles Douglas were hostesses for the Inter­ national meeting of the Staffa Womens Institute Wednesday in the township hall when Mrs. Robin Daynard was guest speaker. She showed slides of Nairobi and Kenya, site of the A.C.W.W. conference in October 1977. Mrs. Daynards comments were most in­ teresting as she and Robin had resided in that area for three years. She also displayed many of their keepsakes which they had brought back to Canada. Mrs. Douglas presided and opened with the Mary Stewart Collect and a poem. During business a donation was made to Bunny Bundle, registration fees sent to the Officers Conference in Waterloo for May 2, 3 and 4 Short courses, training schools, etc. were chosen for 1978. Mrs. Carter Kerslake handed out a questionnaire on Farm History and house logs to be , completed and returned to the March meeting. The Exeter and District Christian Women’s Club, an interdenominational group which meets each month had its February meeting Friday morning with Mrs. Kathleen Anderson in charge. Mrs. Gloria Martin, Crediton sang two solos ac­ companied on the piano by Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner and Mrs. Dorothy McAuley led in prayer. The special speaker Mrs. A. Van Essen gave a most interesting talk on the an­ cient art of spinning wobl. She demonstrated with shorn wool off both black and white sheep using a spindle by hand, then a proper spinning wheel, also how the tangled wool is carded. After it is spun into yarn for knitting. She also showed several woollen gar­ ments already knitted from the sheep wool.
