Mrs. Heber Davis conducted a prayer service opening with the Scripture taken from the Gospel for the first Sunday in Lent. Several ladies led in Prayer and Marguerite Greenlee read the minutes of the December meeting. Mrs. George Anderson, Exeter presided for the election of officers in the absence of Mrs. Mills who was ill. Mrs. Marguerite Greenlee was elected president for the coming two years. Mrs. Hazel Davis, vice president, Mrs. Hazel Eaton, secretary, Mrs. Joan Greenlee, sick friend treasurer, Mrs. Mary Davis, treasurer.A vote of thanks was extended to Mrs. Anderson and Marguerite for her home and refresh­ ments. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Maurice MacDonald Grand Bend visited Mr. & Mrs. Harry Car roll, Wednesday. Cottage service was held Sunday home of Davis. Mr. & Ilderton W.W. RENA CALDWELL Mrs. Campbell Eyre gave her usual thought provoking motto on “We shall resolve to conquer temper, tongue and conduct” when Kippen East W.I. met in the Legion Hall, Wednesday. Miss Grace Bird took as her topic, “Supermarket shopping”. She presented the ladies with a quiz to “Rate your shopping sense,” and then discussed each question. Mrs. Robert Bell gave the treasurers report for Mrs. Parsons. Mrs. Jack Sinclair gave the Sunshine report. Mrs. Ross Broadfoot gave current events and courtesy remarks. Mrs. Al Hoggarth chaired the business portion and it was decided to give a donation to “Save the Sight.” Mrs. Dave Treibner chaired the program as the resolutions convener. Mrs. Charles Eyre and Mrs. Robert Kinsman had charge of the lunch. UCW meets The UCW of St. Andrews Church, Kippen met Tuesday February 14 for their regular meeting. Mrs. Keith Love gave the worship. Mrs. Stephens conducted Bible Study. Hostesses were Mrs. Edgar McBride and Mrs. Robert Kinsman. Mrs. Stephens brought a report from the Presbyterial held in Mitchell. Mrs. Broadfoot entertained with several musical selections on the piano. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred Huxtable, Centralia, visited with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Jones. Mr. & Mrs. John A. B. Prize winners were ladies high - Ruth Skinner, mens high - Floyd Cooper, lone hands - Myrtle Hanna, ladies low - Kay Morley, men’s low - Dennis McInnis. There will be another euchre on Monday evening. The Elimville Women’s Institute members and family enjoyed an afternoon of bowling Sunday at the Exeter Lanes. Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper attended the fair board convention in Toronto for a couple of days last week. Mr. & Mrs. John Batten attended the Good Roads Convention in Toronto for several days this week. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper, Mr. & Mrs. Russell Morley and Ralph and Robert Bray visited Sunday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and family. The third meeting of Elimville II 4-H club was held at the home of Mary Johns. They repeated the 4-H Pledge and the roll call was answered by all present.
