A number of concerts have also been presented in New York State and Ber­ muda. The concert material is chosen to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes and includes sacred music, secular and folk songs, spirituals and popular selections from the American Musical Theatre. Additional features include soloists and quartets as well as specially designed lighting effects. All told, the Schneider male chorus repertoire adds up to a varied and highly entertaining evening. Their aim is to give audiences an enjoyable exciting musical experience. Schneider foods of Kit­ chener are proud to be associated with these “Ambassadors of Song” who have brought fame and esteem not only to the company but to the com­ munity as well. Pupils from grades 4 to 8 will be par­ ticipating. There are 20 parts in all, 12 boys parts and 6 girls parts. I think it will be a good show and I hope you can make it when it showing at our school. Tuesday, February pancakes were sold Stephen Central. They cost 20 cents for three. Take my advice; they were good. We were lucky to have great cooks like Mr. Finkbeiner and other teachers. Monday, February 6, grades 7 and 8 had a speak- off. The finalists were: 1st Roxanne Woods, Sarah McClure, Lisa Miller, Steven Riddell and Karen Hodge. Other contestants were Marilyn McClure, Marilyn Walper, Gary Smith, Arlene Walper and Jim Ward. The over all winners from grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were: Sarah McClure, Roxanne Woods, Marsha Clarke and Steven Riddell. Other contestants were Tim Bender, Karen Hodge, Kathy Schade, Heather Love and Lynn Gaiser. New elective groups were started this month which consisted of pupils from grade 5 to 8. The theme of the group this time is “Pioneer Life.” The cooking electives were working with apples making a dutch apple pie, brown betty, apple crisp and apple pudding. The “Aspects of Pioneer Life”, group made apple juice, dried apples and ice cream. There are many other groups to be discussed in future articles. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD The Christian Develop­ ment group with Mrs. Eben Weigand leader was in charge of the February meeting of Calvary United Church Women. She took the devotions with “Love” as the theme. Mrs. Stuart Wolfe read the story of love. Mrs. Gordon Bender, president, conducted the business. The World Day of Prayer will be held in Mt, Carmel Catholic church March 3. A letter was read from Miss Jean Kellerman, missionary, accepting the invitation to speak at the 65th anniversary in May. Mrs. Mervyn Tieman gave an interesting report on the Pres byterial held in Mitchell in January. The Sunshine committee is Mrs. Harry Hoffman and Mrs. Ralph Weber. reeves spoke as well as Mr. Laporte and the trustees of Dashwood. Dancing followed to the music of Country Unlimited. Both 4-H meeting The third meeting of Dash­ wood club two was held Monday at the Dashwood Community centre. Mrs. Delmar Miller shared her hobby of cake decorating with the girls. After decorating a Valentine cake, Sandra Schroeder was the lucky winner in a draw. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hayter spent almost two weeks in Florida visiting with Harry’s three sisters, Mr, ,& Mrs. John Snyder of Brantford, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bruce from Windsor and Mrs. Grace Beavis of Detroit. Janice Hayter and her room mate flew to Florida and spent a week with Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bruce. Mrs. Hilda Wein and Miss Erma Wein, Clinton, at­ tended the figure-skating championships at Thompson Arena in which the universities took part. Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls, Zion, Lisa Miller returned home from University Hospital, Monday.
