Plans were finalized for hosting the World’s Day of Prayer at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, March 3 at 2 p.m. Collection this year to be sent to Womens Interchurch Council. Everyone welcome. The travelling prize donated by Mary Mom- mersteeg was won by Karen Smeekens, St. John Ambulance teaches mouth to mouth resuscita­ tion free of charge. Next meeting will be March 20, and no lunch to be served during Lent. Theatre guild meets The Playhouse Theatre Guild executive met Tuesday morning at Bev. Harwood’s home. The ladies decided to help the Playhouse board project with decorations for the Beaux Arts Ball, to be held Saturday, March 4. The first general Guild meeting will be held Tuesday April 4 at the Green Forest, beginning with a 12 o’clock luncheon. Plans are in progress for the annual spring fashion show, to be held in South Huron recreation centre, Exeter, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. A social hour will precede the fashion show, followed by dessert and coffee after. Leaving the day after New Years and arriving home last week end Mr. & Mrs. William Blewett, completed a trip around the world going by way of the Atlantic and home by the Pacific. First stop was in Rome, Italy, then to Athens, Greece, Jericho and Jerusalem in Israel, New Delhi, India, then a three . week stop in Bangkok to visit daughter Judy and grand­ children, Mr. & Mrs. Andy Antippas, Mark and Lydia. From here they travelled on to Hong Kong, Manilla Philippines Hawaii and San Francisco. On to Victoria B.C. where they visited Mrs. Blewetts sister, Mrs. Glady Lee, and home again to Grand Bend. They reported average temperature in Bankok around 95 degrees. Mr, & Mrs. Lawrence Johnson spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Southampton at their daughters Mr. & Mrs. Duncan McVittie, Robin and Lawrence Jr. They were joined by their other daughter and family one evening, Mr. & Mrs. Don McArthur, Karen and Kevin when they celebrated Lawrence Sr. birthday and Duncan McVittie’s and the McArthur’s fifth wedding anniversary. The Orpha Club scheduled to meet February 14 was postponed until March 7 due to so many folks away on winter holidays in a warmer climate. The meeting will be at Mrs. home. At the meeting ternoon, broidered blocks for the quilt, which the members are making to enter at the International Plowing Match in September, were handed in. Plans are underway for quilting it at the Village Inn, on February 27 and March 2, members come and help quilt.
