Along with the team championship came seven individual crowns. They were won by Tim Martens, Vince Winters, Brian Westelaken, Cliff Hicks, Kevin Hern, Rick Skinner and Ron Bilcke. Finishing in second place were Phil DeHaan, Bill Duttman, Randy Fisher and Ron Miller. Tim Martens had the uni que honour of going to the Olympic style podium on two occasions to collect medals. The host Lucan team and Exeter took home two of the six team trophies handed out Sunday at the conclusion of the annual Lucan atom tournament. Lucan scored a 6-4 win over Smithville to win the “D” consolation, while Exeter posted a 3-1 triumph over Hamilton to win the “B” division consolation. The teams were presented with medallions for the in dividual players as well as a team trophy. Exeter gained the final round after easily disposing of Southwest London by a 7-1 count, Saturday. George Pratt scored after 41 seconds had been played and the locals never looked back. John Wells paced the attack with two goals, while other singles came off the sticks of Scott Bogart, Steve Gould, Tim Easterbrook and Brett Batten. Scott Lovie picked up a pair of assists, while helping out on one goal each were Rick Gilfiilan, Batten, Allan Pym, Bill Fisher and Pratt. Jim Lewis had his shutout bid spoiled in the first minute of the third period when London found the range on a high shot. Exeter out-shot the losers by a 37-3 margin. In Sunday’s final against Hamilton, Exeter again had a wide edge in territorial play, but they didn’t pull the game out of reach until Jeff Pfaff fired a puck into the empty net with eight seconds left on the clock. George Pratt gave Exeter a 1-0 lead midway through the first on a play with Sean Whiteford and then Scott Lovie added another early in the third on a play with Steve Gould. However, Hamilton scored with two minutes remaining and pulled their goalie in favor of an extra attacker in the final minute and this set the stage for Pfaff’s shot from his own end into the open net. Come from behind Lucan had to come from behind in their game with Smithville to take the “D” consolation silverware. Jess Crawford paced the attack with three goals, while Les Arts added a pair. Joe Hoggarth bagged the other one. Lucan reached the final by posting a decisive 7-0 win over Huron Park in the second round. Tim Shipley was a two-goal man in that contest, while picking up singles were Steve Neil, Brent Bannerman, Jesse Crawford, Mike Arts and Brad Scott. T-A photo Could be another 4-3 The Exeter and St. Marys bantamll teams played their deciding game in a best-of- five series at the rec centre last night. While the winning team isn’t known at press time, there’s a good bet that the final score was 4-3. All four games in the nip and tuck series have been decided by that score. Exeter extended the series to the fifth game when they posted their 4-3 verdict in St. Marys last Wednesday. Mike Clark, Trevor Boyle, Bruce Shaw and Steve Riddell were the Exeter marksmen. The winners of the bantam series will move on to play Pelham. On the weekend, the local bantam II travelled to Trenton, Michigan, for a game, coming home the losers by a 5-1 margin. Rob DeKoker scored the only tally. Several parents companied the team and were hosted at a party by Trenton parents, Saturday night. A return visit has been tentatively scheduled for March 4 and 5.
