Clandeboye
storm notes
Mrs. Arnold Blake who
drives for Murphy Bus lines
was stranded in London after
a very nerve-wrecking drive
through the storm. She spent
the night with her sister-in-
law, Mrs. Harvey Gilbert.
’ Several students from this
area were storm-stayed at
Medway High School
overnight, Thursday. Mrs.
Ron Morgan who works at
St. Josephs Hospital had to
stay at work. Mrs Keith
Simpson stayed with friends
in London.
Snowmobilers checked the
17 cars and trucks that were
abandoned between
Clandeboyeand/the north end
of Lucan. Several people
took refuge at the home of
Jack and Helen Hardy.
Among them was the driver
of a McCains frozen food
truck, so food, especially
Pizza was in good supply
there.
A Lewis bread truck was
stuck at the north end of
Clandeboye so the Carter
store was able to replenish
their bread supply which
was in great demand.
The dairy farmers were
glad to see better weather by
Saturday to let the snow
plows through as their bulk
tanks were overflowing and
more.
Mr. & Mrs. Rea Neil were
thankful for their small wood
stove as their hydro was off
for over two days. The Gebel
family were also with out
hydro for that time. They
spent part of the time with
the Art Hodgins family.
Personals
Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Raycraft
left Tuesday for California
where they will spend the
next two months.
Mrs. Russell Brock,
Goderich spent Tuesday with
her sister, Mrs. Art Hodgins.
Mr. & Mrs. David Kes tie
attended the christening of
their grand-daughter, Jessie
Beth, daughter of Nancy and
Mike Stahl. The service was
held at the Glad Tidings
Assembly in Empress Ave.
United Church, London on
Sunday.
Congratulations to Mr. &
Mrs. Kurt Gebel on the
arrival of their fourth
grandchild Tamara
Kathleen, born on Sunday at
St. Joseph’s Hospital. Proud

(Horner) Gebel.
