IN MEMORIAM —
CAMPBELL — In loving
memory of a dear friend who
passed away 1 year ago,
January 23,1977.
The loneliness of the cold
winter wind
Reminds us you are gone
A grey shadow on a distant wall
Marks the time thathaspassed
Since your departure
The wind has become
Your constant companion
Whispering lullabies
Singing softly of the life you
knew
We think of you
On still winter nights
We have been forced apart
Through no desires of our own
Yet the memories of
A warm and happy friendship
Will long remain
Sadly missed. Wendy and
Mark Heywood 3c
CAMPBELL — in loving
memory of Barry who passed
away 1 year ago January 23,
1977.
We often sit and think if you,
And think of how you died,
To think you couldn’t say
goodbye,
Before you closed your eyes,
We never thought your death so
near,
And only those who have lost
can tell,
The pain of parting without
farewell,
It’s sad but true, we wonder
why,
The best are always first to die.

IN MEMORIAM —
CAMPBELL AND MOFFATT
— In memory of our dear son
Barry, brother and brother-in-
law; and a very dear friend
Jim, who were suddenly called
home to be with their Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ on January
23, 1977 in their 20th and 19th
year.
“Jesus I Trust Thee" (Feb
15/77)
Barry, as a mother,
Ilove you oh so much;
Barry, if I had my way
Your face I would touch
Then Jesus spoke so softly
And said to me one night
“Your Barry is with me love
Please don’t give up “My
Fight”
Jesus, how I love Thee and
This man we know as “Jim"
Jesus. I know you led us
To watch over him
As we look back at that last
year
With a heart of thankfulness
In knowing that your promise
Lord
has brought Jim peace and rest
Salvation, is Your Promise
When we turn our hearts to you
Your Faithful and Just
to bring our lost loved ones
through
I gave them both to you each
day
For you to watch and care
When the time was right. You
chose
To take them home as a “Pair”
Jesus, please help us
To draw all men to you
Jesus, I know our task.
Is to love and be so true
Each one will come to know
your love
And be saved by Your “Grace”
At the end of life’s journey Lord
Go home to your heavenly place
Thank you Jesus for your
love, your peace and your
assurance in knowing that your
ways are perfect. Isaiah 55:8,9
“For my thoughts are not your
thoughts, neither are your ways
my ways, saith the Lord. For as
the heavens are higher than the
earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts.”
Daily remembered with love.

CAMPBELL — In loving
memory of my friend, Barry,
who suddenly was taken home
to be at rest on January 23,1977.
Though surrounded by friends, I
feel saddened
In the middle of joy I feel blue
Longing for yesterday with you
You meant so very much to me
That nothing I can say
Can tell the sadness in my heart
As I think of you today
I think of a smile I’ll always
remember
And a voice I will never forget
Of fond memories to treasure,
forever
And of a loss I will always
regret.
Always remembered, Faye 3p

passed away suddenly at the
tender age of eighteen months
on January 16,1977.
No stain was on her little heart
Sin had not entered there
And innocence slept sweetly on
Let pale white brow so fair
She was too pure for this cold

Too beautiful to stay

Our darling one away
Somewhere above this troubled
world
Safe beyond all grief and tear
Our loved one’s in heavenly
peace
God grant some day we meet her
there.

SWORN IN — Judge William Cochrane was sworn in as
Provincial Court Judge id Goderich Wednesday.
Congratulating Judge Cochrane is
Huron County Judge F.G. Carter
The mother of three was
bleeding profusely from
wounds to her throat and
hands which she had suf
fered as a result of an earlier
attack by an unknown man
she met at a local hotel.
The woman was found by
Constables Bill Lewis and
Wally Tomasik while they
were on patrol and their
discovery is being credited
with saving the woman’s life
as she had lost considerable
blood and she was nearly
frozen.
The victim is in South
Huron Hospital and her
condition is listed as fair.
The two officers have been
joined in the investigation by
Inspector Bill Bennett of the
Criminal Investigation
Branch, Toronto; Det, Sgt.
Don Westover of Mt. Forest;
and local detachment
members Cpl. Ray Brooks
and Constables Bill
McIntyre and Frank Giffin.
The canine unit from Mt.
Forest also assisted in the
investigation.
Russians

Friday the 13th is sup
posed to be an unlucky day
but for a receptionist at the
T-A for a moment it seemed
like April Fool’s Day.
Answering the phone
about 11:30 Friday morning
she was asked, “Is this the
Russian Embassy in Ot
tawa?”
When told it was the Ex
eter Times Advocate, the
caller explained she receiv
ed the local number from a
Bell operator.
On later investigation, the
T-A learned the Ottawa ex
change of the Russian Em
bassy does begin with the
same numerals as' Exeter

Put lien
on school
The Huron County Board
of Education was told
Wednesday that a
mechanics’ lien claim had
been made against the
Exeter Public SchboV. ‘The
board learned that solicitors
for Culliton Brothers Ltd.,
the construction firm that
did repair and alteration
work on the school had filed
a lien against the school for
$37,308 plus costs.
John Cochrane, director
of education, told the board
that Culliton Brothers was
the firm that handled the
work but not the firm that
received the board contract
for the project. He said F. C.
Marlatt Developments
(Hamilton) Limited, of
Dundas, Ontario, had been
awarded the contract by the
board.
Cochrane said Culliton
Brothers had been sub
contracted by Marlatt to do
the work and that it was his
understanding that the sub
contractor had not been
paid. He said the matter had
been turned over to the
architect for the project and
the board solicitor to see how
it can be handled. He added
that it remained for the
board to wait to see what
action was recommended by
the solicitor and go on from
there.
