Second Century Advance for Christ, a plan to launch the Presbyterian Church in Canada into the next 100 years was explained by Mrs. Art Whilsmith. This plan, implemented by the General Assembly, is for spiritual renewal and growth through prayer and study, witnessing Bible and Hear shut-in report Noble Grand Mrs. Joyce Morgan presided at the Pride of Huron Rebekah Lodge Wednesday evening assisted by Vice Grand Mrs. Shirley Cooper. The secretary Sister Alice Bowen read a letter received from Sister Mary VanCamp. It voted to send $35 to United Nations for Youth Pilgramage. PastMrs. Olive Hicks Grand reported for the C.P.I. committee that 50 boxes and 15 poinsettia had been delivered to shut-ins. The Lodge will be catering to a men’s curling bonspiel, January 28. HEBER DAVIS The funeral of the late Mrs. Lilly (Hodgins) McFalls took place Friday from the Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan. Mrs. McFalls spent the most of her life on the farm on the second concession of Biddulph. She was in her 98th year. Following her marriage she lived in Penetanguishene for a year. At the death of her young husband Archie McFalls, she returned to her parents home (The late Mr. & Mrs. George Hodgins). Six years ago she moved to Hamilton where she spent remainder of her days with a niece. She wa,s very bright and alert, shebpent three weeks last summer with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Barker who reside next to her farm on the second concession of Biddulph. She was one of the last pioneer ladies of this area. A study of the Arctic was given by Mrs. Mary Carter. The collection will be sent to the Arctic where Dr. Harold Seegmiller a former rector of Trivitt is principal of the Arthur Turner Training School in Pangnirtung, N.W.T. The pancake supper will be held in the Parish Hall February 7. A new telephone committee was formed — Vera Greenlee, Freida Bierling and Ann Acheson 'acting. Hilda Smith assisted the hostess with lunch. Alumni Hall and the concert and reception which followed, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs, Freddie and Patti attended the funeral of Mrs. Dobbs’ uncle, William Hill, Strathroy. They visited the funeral home Wednesday and spent Thursday and Friday with Mrs. Hill. The’first cottage service of the season was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Heber Daves at 1 p.m. Sunday Rev. Mary .Mills was in charge. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee entertained her family Saturday with a dinner in honour of Earl’s mother Mrs. Vera Greenlee, Exeter. She was observing her birth­ day. Other guests included Mr. & Mrs. Larry Greenlee, Debbie and Derek and Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Greenlee. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Carroll are holidaying in Mexico. Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Greenlee were guests Sunday with their cousins Mr. & Mrs. Ken Latta . Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Love, Fayeanne and Amy Jean Marie were Thursday guests with Mrs. Loves’ parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Davis.
