Desjardine said the road building program started a couple of years was proving advantageous. He said the widening and building up of Concession road 10-11 bet ween Stephen Central School and Highway 83 had cut down on snow plowing. Later in the meeting council gave approval to reconstruction of another two miles and a half of roads. Application will be made to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Com munications for $50,000 in supplementary road sub sidies to construct a bridge at Lot 22 on Concession road 4-5, north of Huron street. A recently completed survey of present bridges in the township suggested this structure be rebuilt. Clerk Wilmar Wein said a supplementary subsidy in the amount of $28,000 was received in 1977 for purchase of a new grader. The township will be ad vertising in the near future for a dog control officer and will be checking with the Exeter and Kirkton veterinary clinics for housing of any animals which are picked up.
