One sad and lonely year has passed Since the great sorrow fell The shock that we received that day No one can ever tell Your end came sad and sudden No time to say good-bye You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why A golden heart stopped beating Two working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. We cannot forget your smiling face Your happy carefree way The smile that won so many friends In the happy by gone days. So this month comes with deep regret For it brings back a day we cannot forget. You left so suddenly without a good bye. But memories of you will never die It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone Because part of us went with you The day God called you home. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by wife Lavina, son Donald, daughter-in-law Lorna and grandchildren Valerie and Suzanne. lc GLANVILLE — In loving memory of a dear daughter and sister Joyce who left us 14 years ago December 28. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by sons Wilbert and Fred and families. Ip YEARLEY — In loving memory of a dear wife, mother and grandmother Gertrude who passed awav Januarv 8,1973. Time slips by but memories stay Quietly remembered every day Our little tribute small and tender Just to show we still remember. Always remembered by husband Tom, daughters Audrey and Rena and son Ed and grandchildren. lc Wright concerned about associations r Times-Advocate, January 5, 197®Page 21 This is the time of year councils get requests to join various municipal associations and Tuesday night, Councillor Ted Wright urged that council con sider whether they are getting value from their memberships. He suggested they may be paying for some duplication in the various groups, Councillor Derry Boyle won dered why most members were always so anxious to pay for the Good Roads Association. “It’s a good holiday,” Reeve Si Simmons commented, suggesting that “the two of you (Boyle and Wright) are getting a little old and over the hill.” Councillor Steve Pfaff said he found last year’s meeting of the Ontario Police Governing Authority very interesting. “But maybe I’m weird,” he quickly added. Wright said he agreed there were some groups that council should join, but merely questioned a few that they join. Council approved a $10 levy for the Police Governing Authorities and a membership of $168.91 for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Later in the meeting, notification was received of the Good Roads convention for which four reservations are being held for council members. Wright said he felt the event was most worthwhile, but noted he couldn’t attend because he would be in Jamaica, “That’s too bad,” Mayor Bruce Shaw commented. “What association do you belong to?” Councillor Patterson asked of Wright. ”■—"—— Dance r *p Dance SOUTH HURON recreation centre Music By HEYWOODS 9 — 1 A.M.
