while spending Christmas with
members of his family here, has
been a patient at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Sarnia.
Orlando Fisk, father of Mrs.
Gordon Slaght, died in Norwich,
Friday.
Steve Fletcher, stepfather of
Rev. Pierce, was buried at
Woodstock. Sympathy is ex
tended to the bereaved families.

Several from this community
were among the 450 who attended
the New Years Eve dance
sponsored by the Lions Club and
held at the Lucan Community
Centre. Music was supplied by
“The Serenades.” After the
midnight celebrations a hot roast
beef dinner was served buffet
style. A good time was had by all.
The January meeting of the
Clandeboye Womens Institute
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Arnold Lewis Wednesday,
January 11.

A very successful pot-luck
supper was held in the Whalen
Community Centre, Thursday
evening, with Mr. & Mrs. Gerald
Hern and Mr. & Mrs. Bill Morley
as hosts.
Following supper euchre was
played. The winners were: ladies
high, Mrs. Art Abbott; men’s
high, Larry Hern; lone hands,
Earl French; low score, Mrs.
Ron Pullman.

family, London were supper
guests Tuesday evening with Mr.
& Mrs. Cecil Squire.

Between February 10 and March 12, 1978, the Gallery/Stratford
will open its doors to all Perth and Huron County artists who wish
to exhibit. It is hoped that this exhibition will bring new art to
the attention of the Gallery and the public, and provide a basis for
a Clearer understanding of the artistic activities in this area.
