T-A photo It isn’t everday that a church has new stained- glass windows but at Hensall United church that is the case. With the sunlight filtering through, it was a fitting moment for the service of Dedication led by their minister, Rev. Stan. C. McDonald on Sunday morning. Windows were dedicated in memory of Lisa Darlene Merritt (by grand­ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Payne), G. Mark Drysdale. W. Carl Passmore, Brian Harrison Alderdice. Ida. G. <Case* Rowcliffe, Mr. and Mrs. John Rowcliffe, the late Albert Alexander and Mrs. Alexander, the late James McAllister and Mrs. McAllister, the late Alma Hess, Bill and Jean Smith and family, the Munn family, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Jones, Mr. David Brock, Mrs. Dorothy Mickle, Mr. and Mrs. Ian McAllister, the United Church Women and the Sunday School Students. Preceding the dedication the service was conducted by Rev. Stan C. McDonald who told the children the story of the “Golden Win­ dows" and preached on “The great cloud of witnesses" The choir sang Handel’s “Largo" and following the dedication, Mrs Donna St. John sang, “Bless this house". Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey led the choir and Dr. Ralph Topp was at the organ. All registrations for the vacation Bible School should be in this week; it will be held July 2-6. Annual Open Air Service at Camp Menesetung will be held on July 29 at 11 a.m. Picnic and games to follow. Personals Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Payne on Saturday were Miss Muriel Hayman of Surrey, England. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Payne of Elmira, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Payne of St. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Berdan of Union, Mrs. John Alexander, and Joan, and Ross, Miss Cathy Sim of Kippen, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Payne of London and Rev. Stan McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sangster, visited this week with the former's sister Mrs. Jack Peebles and family in London. Several members of the “Three Links" Senior Citizens attended the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adkins held in the community centre, Zurich on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Busche and family of Dorchester spent the week end with Mrs. Bushe’s parents and at­ tended the Scruton Reunion held at Seaforth. Mrs. returned home after spen­ ding the week end with her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Don Gooding and Dale in Parkhill, and at- the Lions’ Park, Edgar Munn tended Baptismal Services in Strathroy when her great grandson Donald James Gooding was baptized. Mrs. R.H. Middleton returned home from a pleasant holiday to Western Canada.r Mrs. Jack Corbett spent a day in London with her sister Mrs. Blanche Chapman. Mrs. Mel Glanville who has been a patient in Victoria Hospital, London for the past two weeks returned to her home last week. R. K. T-A photo Legion, Auxiliary conduct memorial The Hensall Branch of the Canadian Legion and Ladies’ Auxiliary held a memorial service at Hensall Union Cemetery on Sunday when Crosses of Comrades and flags were re-placed and dedicated. Rev. Stan McDonald was in charge assisted by the President Irvine Ferris, Parade Marshall LarryUyl and Sgt. at Arms Mrs. Iva Reid led the colour party Mrs. Hilda Smale, Charlie Cooper and Howard Smale. Five Legion members placed the Crosses around the flag. The crosses will be cemented in place at the graves. Amber Lodge Wins Prize Noble Corbett presided for the meeting * - - - . Lodge Evening assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Elizabeth Riley, who reported for the visiting committee. The Inaugural meeting will be held in Clinton Lodge Hall on July 4 at 8 p.m, when Mrs. Jean Henderson will be installed as District Deputy President of Huron District 23. The float which the Rebekah members decorated and entered in the Hensall Fair won first prize. Cards of sympathy were to be sent to Mrs. Olga Chip­ chase L.S.V.G. whose sister Mrs. Ruth Adair passed away in London. Following the business, lodge closed for the summer months, after which a social hour was enjoyed and refreshments served. The September meeting will be followed by a “Pot- Conduct fun event atQueenswayhome The Queensway Nursing Home held a fun day for the residents on Saturday in conjunction with nursing home and senior citizens week. Games and prizes were held in the forenoon for the residents. Tickets on a basket of fruit donated by the Legion ladies’ auxiliary were sold. Mrs. Louise Mitchell drew7 the winning ticket for Aleida Kats. Five bikers for the bike-a- thon braved the weather and went the 12 miles. A strawberry and ice cream social was enjoyed by all in attendance. All proceeds go to the Ontario Heart Foundation. Mrs. Eric Luther con­ ducted the Church service last week. The Christian Reformed Church ladies’ took the residents for a car ride on Wednesday. Visitors with Nelson Loghrin were Frank and Elaine Jordan, Helen and Joan Klemke. Mr. and Mrs. Verdun Tuer, Stratford, Visitors with Louise Mitchell were Mrs. Vera Amy and Mrs. Beavers, Brantford and her son Les Mitchell. Chester Dunn and Mr. and Mrs. John Ridley visited with Mrs. Vera Lammie. Ruth Durand visited her mother Mrs. Kendrick. Don Rozendal visited his wife Alice.
