J una ?7, 1979 No injuries in two collisions Two two vehicle crashes caused damage totalling $2,200 this past week ac­ cording to the Ontario Provincial Police detach­ ments at the Pinery and Grand Bend. On Sunday vehicles driven by Antonia Barba to, Sarnia and Robert Mervin Talbot of RR 3, Bayfield collided on Highway 21, 1.2 kilometres north of County Road 5. Damage to the Barbato vehicle was listed at $1,000 while the Talbot vehicle sustained no damage., No injuries were reported. Vehicles driven by Glen Walker of Kincardine and Alvin Risinger of Lenin, Michigan collided at the intersection of Ontario and Main, Monday in Grand Bend. There were no injuries in the accident which saw the two vehicles damaged to the tune of $1,200. Liquor offences kept the Pinery detachment busy with a total of 28 being made. Grand Bend OPP laid 10 liquor related charges. Two narcotic charges were made by the Pinery detach­ ment along with two provincial park charges, 16 highway traffic act charges and one theft investigation. Business Directory C. HARRY ROGER, D.C. Love loaf banks had been given out to the congragation several weeks ago, and they were broken and over $350.00 has been received so far, and this money will go th World Vision to help the hungry. Rev, Richard Simpson, conducted this portion of service, illustrated by breaking a real loaf of bread. Guest speaker Sunday evening at Church of God was Daniel D’Haene, Lon­ don, a converted Jehovah Witness working with the “Help Jesus Ministry.” United Church news Guest minister at the United Church was Rev. A.H. Daynard, a retired minister from Staffa Ontario. His sermon topic was “Putting first things first.” Choir anthem was the lovely hymn, “The Lord is my Shepherd.” Beginning next Sunday, July 1st, and continuing through July and August the hours of worship will be Grand Bend 11:00 a.m. Next Sunday morning the outdoor services will begin at Grand Bend at 11:00 a.m. Please plan to attend. With regard to the above services, the men of the Session, Stewards and Couples club are asked to meet at the manse to carry out the benches on Wednesday evening June 27th at 7:00 p.m. Flowers decorating the United Church sanctuary, Sunday morning were from the Blewett-Alderson wedding which took place Friday evening. Catholic church news The Catholic Womens League met Monday evening at the Alhambra hall, with 17 members and several husbands attending a pot luck supper. Karen Smeekens and Tony Vandenberk attended the Provincial convention in Windsor on May 8 and 9, Karen reported discussions. Two resolutions were: An annual day of prayer be instituted throughout the Diocese for the International year of the child; That Ontario Provincial council of C.W.L. send directors to all the Parish council making them aware of the needs to protect unborn children and urging them to become associated with the Pro-Life movement. A letter had been received stating the C.W.L. banner, applied for will _ be coming. Members were asked to bring in books for the travelling library. A bulletin has been placed at the back of the church to record upcoming events. The Alhambra and Catholic Womens League members, picnic, in honor of the “Year of the Child”, will be held August 12th.
