child abuse, narrated by
Arte Johnson.
She answered questions
from members, and told us
there are more than 40 child
abuse cases in Huron
County. Workers from the
Family and Children service
are available for speaking.
More than 30 W.I. mem
bers, 4-H leaders, 4-H girls
and friends attended the
meeting which opeened with
a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m.

The Alhambra week end
June 22, 23 and 24th was a
huge success, Members
from Toronto, Belleville,
London, Windsor, Detroit
and Hamilton attended.
A social time was held
Friday evening and
registration for the week end
taken.
A golf tournament was
held Saturday morning. Mr.
Bellambre of Windsor won
the trophy.
Later a tour of Arc
Industries at Dashwood was
taken and Grand Bend
members presented them
with a $1500.00 cheque for
summer recreational
program for children in the
nursery.
From 4:30 to 6:30 a
Hawaiian Luau pork bar
beque with all the trimmings
was held.
At 7:15 all attended mass
at Immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic church.
At 9 p.m. a dance was held
in the Alhambra hall.
Sunday brunch was served
from 7 to 10 a.m.
The Council of Caravan
meetings commenced at 8:30
a.m. and continued till 11
a.m.
Lunch and farewell party
followed and everyone left
with kind words for
hospitali ty shown them and a
very enjoyable week end.
