Morley Clarke, the London Conference Program Officer, on his guitar. The choir, under the direction of Helen Brown had prepared special music for the occasion and sang two joyous anthems “Renew Thy Church” and “There’s plenty of room in the Family” a modern chorus. itev. Keith Brown led the service and read a letter from the National Office of the Mission and Service Committee, commending Lucan Church as one of those which had “gone over the top” of their accepted contribution thus helping to increase the national fund by 10 percent over the last year. A certificate of merit was enclosed. Mr. Clarke as guest speaker chose as his topic “Unclaimed Riches.” He said there are many stories in the Bible of “Unclaimed Riches”, eg. “The Prodical Son” - where the elder brother had never claimed what his father had for him. The limitations are ours. “My God will supply all your needs” said Paul. The two most precious gifts which we must not fail to claim are the Gift of Forgiveness through Jesus Christ, followed by the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Both are ours for the asking, but we must accept the first before receiving the second.
