of 49 and 50, respectively.
Tom Voerman carded a
low net of 32 followed by Bill
Mickle at 34.
Closest to the pin with a
shot from the fourth tee was
Bill Armstrong. He only
missed by six and a half
feet.
Juniors 14-0 in an evening
contest behind the stellar
pitching of Bruijns.
The first loss of the season
came earlier in the week by
a score of 5-1 to the Byron
juniors,
Bruijns chalked up an

holding the Thorndale club

No Thorndale runner was

The nifty left hander

runs across the plate.
In the second frame, John
Hayter singled and Dave
Parsons cracked a double to
account for two more runs.
The Tigers sent Parsons,
Hoffman and Tom Hayter

inning without the aid of a

The only Clinton score
came on the strength of a
home run by Bums in the top
of the eighth.
The home run blast was
only the seventh hit off the
offerings of Dashwood
hurler Jim Guenther.
Guenther kept the Clinton
hits well scattered and pick-
way.
Tape measure blast
The only Dashwood run in
the 5-1 loss to Byron came in
the bottom of the ninth in

The Kirkton midget girls,
last year’s Ontario champs
opened the new season
Wednesday night with a 10-4
win over Wellesley.
They are competing this
year in the Western Ontario
Athletic Association against
teams from St. Marys,
Mitchell, St. Pauls and
Wellesley.
In the first victory,

Julianne MacLean was the
star at the'plate and in the
field. She led her club with
two singles and in centre
field snagged two fly balls-
that appeared to be sure hits.

Cooper, Janice Burgin and
Donna Prout.
On the weekend the
Kirkton girls gained
valuable experience as they
participated in the London
Pop Shoppe tournament.
They lost 18-0 to a Don
Mills team and were
defeated 16-6 by Guelph after
holding a 6-4 lead going into
the late innings.
