TEMPLEMAN STAFFA Safety was the topic for the May meeting of the Staffa Womens Institute held in the Township hall, Wednesday night. Mr. Ron Walker from the London office of Ontario Hydro was guest speaker and presented slides to accompany his information on Home Energy Management. This was followed with a discussion period which proved most informative. Mrs. John Templeman presided and welcomed the 4H clubs which were guests. Margie Smale from Staffa 3 delighted all with a piano instrumental. Staffa No. 1 club had a exhibit on Face Framers with Barbara Templeman giving the commentary and Staffa No. 2 had an exhibit set up on birthstones with Mrs. Charles Douglas com­ menting on it. Mrs. Russell Worden had prepared a safety elephant Dumbo with safety hints suitable for nursery school age children. Following this members and guests presented their safety tips in answer to the roll call. Mrs. Robert Parsons gave a past event of the Women’s Institute reminiscing over the 75th anniversary party. Minutes and correspon­ dence were read which in­ cluded a thank you from St. Patricks school in Dublin. Their triple trio had placed first at the Mitchell Music Festival winning the Staffa W.I. trophy. Tickets for the Blyth Festival were available from Mrs. Cameron Vivian. Mrs.Char les Douglas gave a report of the District Annual and the display for Mitchell Fair was discussed. Following the meeting the hostesses Mrs. Robert Parsons and Mrs. John Templeman served refresh­ ments. Shower Mrs. Gary Finlayson and Feeling listless? Out of sorts? Fight it! Take a walk. Mrs. Bill Kerslake hostessed . a community shower for Joanne Ross in the Family Life Center on Tuesday evening. Following a short program Mrs. Robin Daynard read an address of good wishes and Joanne was assisted in opening her gifts by her sister Jane and a girlfriend Sherry Howat. Joanne ex­ pressed her appreciation to all and a dainty lunch was served by the hostesses. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Tom Scott visited for a few days with Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Moore, Lindsay. Barbara Templeman was an overnight guest of Corey Partridge, Mitchell, Thursday. Mrs. Arthur Kemp at­ tended the United .Church conference in Sault Ste. Marie this past week. Mrs. Aolbje Visscher has been visiting with relatives in Holland. Visiting on the weekend with Mrs. Sam Norris and Mr. & Mrs. Bob Norris were Mrs. Winnifred Sharppe, Frank McGowan, Jim and Garry Norris, Brampton and Mr. & Mrs. Jim Skinner, RR 2 Mitchell. Mr. & Mrs. Rob Tem­ pleman and Carrah visited Siinday with Mr. & Mrs. Hap Swatridge and Jill, Wingham. Hibbert United Church anniversary service was well attended" Sunday when Rev. Wilena Brown, Bluevale charge was guest minister using Sharing the good news, as her sermon topic. Delightful music was provided by. the Festival City Chorus. A hour of fellowship was enjoyed following the service. Mrs. Nelson Pullman, Mrs. Ralph Young, Mrs. Jim Skinner, Ruth and Mary Jane Templeman were among the girl friends at­ tending a miscellaneous shower for Joanne Ross at the home of her parents Mr. & Mrs. Alf Ross, Seaforth, on Sunday afternoon.
