Mrs. Marilyn Blake read the address welcoming Janine into the Taylor family. Little Misses Jen­ nifer Pollock, and Tina Driscoll assisted Janine with the many lovely gifts which she received. The guest of honour thanked one and all for the many gifts and the delightful evening. HENSALL STUDENTS AT SYLVAN - Grade eight students from Hensall Public School were the first group to use the outdoor education facility, Camp Sylvan, south of Parkhill. Church has anniversary Many former members of the congregation gathered at Hensall United Church on Sunday, when they celebrated their 131st Anniversary with their new minister, Rev. Stan. C. McDonald as preacher. A nearly full church heard a sermon on love as exem­ plified by David when the water of Samaria was brought to him. Dr. Ralph Topp was at the organ and the choir sang the anthem, “Bless my soul” by Ippolitoff-Ivanoff; also “God be in my head” after the Benediction. Floral tributes adorned the sanctuary from the wedding of Kevin Buchanan and Heather Dougherty and other arrangements were in loving memory of William Parsons, placed there by his i family. : Next Sunday, the (Sacrament of the Lord’s I Supper will be celebrated . and a special Dedication service will be held on Sunday, June 24 to dedicate the new stained-glass win­ dows. At Camp Sylvan The Grade eight pupils of Hensall Public School under the direction of teachers Mr. Pearson and Mrs. Jacobi enjoyed a camp-out at Camp Sylvan for three days this week. Youth For Christ The Board members and families of the South Huron Youth For Christ entertained the Teams of the Bible Quiz on the Book of Galatians. The teams are as follows: Mrs. Keith Gingerich’s team: Ruth Gingerich, Julie Armstrong, Jackie Thorn­ ton, Karen Thornton, Wendy Oesch, Darla. Gingerich, Anita Gingerich, Maureen Erb. Following a swim party at the Vanastra pool the members were en­ tertained at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Steve Rathwell, Vanastra, Mr. Rathwell is the Director for the South Huron Youth for Christ. A barbeque was enjoyed by all followed by a social hour of music and singing. T-A photo LODGES ATTEND WORSHIP SERVICE The Independent Order of Oddfellow Lodges, Amber Rebekah Lodge, The Can­ tons of Watford, and L.A.M.P. of London attended worship at Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday and were addressed by Rev. A.C. Young of Goderich, who spoke on the subject “Things That Keep Us From God.” The choir under the direction of Mrs. ' Robert Taylor sang the anthem “I Have Found My Lord.” Following the service an hour of Fellowship was enjoyed at the local hall. Sunday June 3rd, will be the anniversary of Carmel Presbyterian Church when the guest minister will be Rev. Dr. Douglas Fox of Huron College, London. Miss Sylvia Bell will be guest soloist.
