By LYNNE FARQUHAR The Huron Park pee wee girls have their first ball game of the season tonight, Wednesday, May 30, at 6:45 at the Huron Park ball diamond. The pee wees are pitted against the Exeter B team in their debut game. The Huron Park Optimist juvenilles also take to the diamond here in the Park for their first league game Thusday, May 31, at 9:00 p.m, against Lieury, The juveniles came up on the short end of the score in an ‘ exhibition game against Lieury last week, but the girls, with Fon Wells han dling the reins, will be out for revenge Thursday night. Come on out to the diamond and support the girls!! By the way, we are still looking for a coach for the pee wee girls team. We’ve got the girls and the equipment, all we need is someone willing to give up 14 nights of their summer to help some eager young gals learn the game of softball. Anyone interested in umpiring this summer for pee wee and juvenile girls ball should contact the Resource Centre at 228-6302. We are now in the process of interviewing staff and making preparations for our summer programs. This summer we will be running a playground program in Dashwood and “SPARK” will be back in Huron Park for youngsters from Crediton, Centralia, Huron Park and the surrounding rural community. We will also hopefully be running swimming lessons for all ages this year at the Huron Park pool. This Thursday, McCurdy School and Stephen Central will be holding their bike rodeos sponsored by the Optimists. Bill Wilson of the OPP will be on hand to set up some tricky courses GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY - Mr. and Mrs. Orville Dixon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home RR 2 Lucan.
