Two second-half penalty
kicks by Tony Markus
enlarged first-half goals by
Martin DeBruyn and Brad
Clausius into a 4-0 win for
Exeter Centennials over
Huron Park, Sunday.
The clubs were playing in
Ausable district soccer in
Huron Park.
Centre-forward Martin
DeBruyn collected Exeter’s
first goal off a through pass
onto the Park net at 20
minutes into the match.
Five minutes later, winger
Brad Clausius knocked down
a crossed ball from
DeBruyn at the far post and
drove it in for Exeter’s se
cond.
Fullback Tony Markus
then doubled the score on
1 penalty-kicks awarded at
I nine and 30 minutes of the
’ last half.
Huron Park, a newcomer
in the league for 1979, had
trouble containing Exeter
attacks in the early going,
but managed to close them
down fairly well as the game
progressed, The Park also
had a share of missed
chances.
Exeter, too, was off the
net on a number of scoring
opportunities throughout the
game,
