However, that doesn’t mean you can call Friday morning to book a place for the weekend. Reserving a campsite is a little more complicated than that, according to business manager John Sollars. Natural Resources Minister James A.C. Auld said today that the special holiday for children is further indication of the strong support being provid- ing provincial parks on August 6. The buttons were popular at the Ministry's parks exhibit during the re­ cent Canadian National Sportsmen’s Show in Toron- to. “Some parks will be offering special children’s day activities through our park visitor services program,” Mr. Auld said.reservation have to get a reservation application form. The application form has to be received by the park at least 21 days ahead of the proposed reservation time. The camping period has to be for no less than three days and no more than 23 days. The camper has to send in the total amount of his camping fee, plus a $2.00 reservation fee. Campsites at the Pinery now cost $5,50 “ --t-i — -7Qg a night electrical hook-up. After Pinery officials receive the application, they will consider it, and then send the would-be camper confirmation or rejection. Sollars says that campers will have to notify the park at least 24 hours before their proposed arrival if they want to cancel their stay in order to receive a refund. The $2.00 reservation fee will be forfeited in case of a cellation. Only 250 of the campsites in use this will be available reservations. These 250 sites will be spread throughout Dunes, Riverside, and Burley campgrounds. Sollars says that while the reservation system will insure a camper that he will have a campsite, they will not hold a particular site. However, “We will try to accommodate them the best we can,” he says. Some reservations have already been made for the Victoria holiday weekend, and the American Memorial day weekend.
