Officials at Pinery
Provincial Park are taking
reservations for campsites
this season for the first time.
However, that doesn’t mean
you can call Friday morning
to book a place for the
weekend.
Reserving a campsite is a
little more complicated than
that, according to business
manager John Sollars.
Sollars says people in

Natural Resources
Minister James A.C. Auld
said today that the special
holiday for children is
further indication of the
strong support being provid-
ing provincial parks on
August 6. The buttons were
popular at the Ministry's
parks exhibit during the re

has to be received by the
park at least 21 days ahead
of the proposed reservation
time.
The camping period has to
be for no less than three days
and no more than 23 days.
The camper has to send in
the total amount of his
camping fee, plus a $2.00
reservation fee. Campsites
at the Pinery now cost $5,50

After Pinery officials
receive the application, they
will consider it, and then
send the would-be camper
confirmation or rejection.
Sollars says that campers
will have to notify the park at
least 24 hours before their
proposed arrival if they want
to cancel their stay in order
to receive a refund. The $2.00
reservation fee will be
forfeited in case of a
cellation.
Only 250 of the
campsites in use this
will be available
reservations. These 250 sites
will be spread throughout
Dunes, Riverside, and
Burley campgrounds.
Sollars says that while the
reservation system will
insure a camper that he will
have a campsite, they will
not hold a particular site.
However, “We will try to
accommodate them the best
we can,” he says.
Some reservations have
already been made for the
Victoria holiday weekend,
and the American Memorial
day weekend. Application
forms for dates during the
rest of the summer have
been coming in at about six a
day, according to Sollars.
