T-A photo The service at the United Church on Sunday was conducted by Mr. Bob Elliott of Clinton and assisted by Mr. Eric Mansfield and Mr. Doug Mock who told the children’s story. Bob Elliott gave the address. The choir, under the direction of Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey sang, “Let all the world in every corner sing” with Dr. Ralph Topp at the organ. Next Sunday the service will be conducted by Rev. John Wareham of Exeter. Induction of Rev. Stan McDonald will be held on Wednesday Mayl6at 8 p.m. Chiselhurst and Hensall Church Boards will meet at 7.30 p.m, on that evening. All contributions for the bale to be left at the church by Monday May 14. Evelyn McBeath reported for the finance committee. An invitation was received from Goderich Lodge for five sisters to attend their 70th anniversary May 15th. Arrangements were finalized for the dessert euchre and bake sale to be held Wednesday May 9th with the following com­ mittees in charge: Enter­ tainment: Dorothy Corbett, Evelyn McBeath, Alice Ferg, and Myrtle Taylor. Social: Aldeen Volland, Olga Chipchase, Pearl Eyre, Annie Reid. The dessert euchne is at 1:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Best Interest We represent many Trust Companies. The theme for the worship service was taken by Mrs. Richard Taylor on “Mother, They call You blessed” the Roll Call was answered by the members answering with a hymn containing the word “Mother”. A thank you note was acknowledged from Harry Horton. The members were reminded to go to the Bluewater Rest Home to entertain on Wednesday evening. It was decided to send a child from the Children’s Aid Society for one week to the United Church ,Camp “Menesetung.” The U.C.W. voted a donation to the Board of Stewards. The President thanked all who helped in any way at the Taylor’s Sale. It was an­ nounced the New Minister will be inducted on Wed­ nesday May 16 at 8 p.m. Also any one interested in a bus trip to the United Church House in Toronto June 13th. Mrs. Clarence Coleman presented a film entitled “The Way of the Cross To­ day” Mrs. E. Kinsman gave a poem on “The Happy Home”. The June meeting was reviewed and the President closed the meeting with prayer. A “Slip and Bloomer” sale also a bake sale followed with Mrs. R. Taylor and Mrs. J. Brintnell were auc­ tioneers. Mrs. Harold Parsons and Mrs. J. Upshall were hostesses. Personals Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster and Brad and Mrs. Bertha MacGregor were dinner guests at a birthday anniversary at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland, Gwen and Michael in Clin­ ton. Mrs. A.W. Shirray who returned to her home after spending the winter months in Florida reports a very good winter but is happy to be home again. Mr. & Mrs. Carl Payne visited with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Berdan of Union on Sunday.
