Mrs. Joe Morgan and Mrs. Corbett were the hostesses. Roll call was answered by a doation of an article for the church kitchen. Tickets were distributed for a quilt draw to be drawn at the strawberry supper. Personals The Gillies children visited with Bill and Kathy Prest and family, Saturday. Misses Verna and Elmer Greenlee, Exeter were Wednesday afternoon visitors with Mrs. Violet Allison and Kathleen Morley also Mrs. Olla McDonald of Strathroy a dinner-guest Friday with them. Miss Cindy Prest, Toronto visited with her parents Mr. • & Mrs. George Prest over the weekend. The United Church Women held their regular meeting Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Jack Hodgson. Sunday, May 13 is Mother’s Day and Family Day service in Brinsley United Church. Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hodgins and family visited with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Morley Sunday afternoon. The Brinsley youth choir participated in the program for Music night Sunday evening in the Ailsa Craig United Church. They sang as their number “I found the answer.” Sympathy is extended to Harold and George W. Lee, their wives and families in the sudden death of their brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) Parker of Harriston. t Elimville Wl plan events By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The Elimville Women’s Institute held an executive meeting at the home of Mrs. Murray Coward recently. The program for the coming year was planned. It was also decided to attend the Huron Country Playhouse this year again. The Thames-Road and Elimville C.G.I.T. held their mother and daughter banquet at Thames Road church, Wednesday evening. A graduation ceremony was held for Shirlee Ballantyne and Nancy Cooper. Nancy Cooper introduced the guest speaker Kotaro Watanabe, the exchange student from Japan. Kotaro told many interesting facts about Japan’s population, area, homes and especially the education system. Mrs. Mac Hodgert thanked him and presented him with a gift. The C.G.I.T. girls presented each of their mystery mothers with gift and each leader with a single rose. The leaders are Mrs. Ted Kernick, Mrs. Craig Webber and Mrs. Barry Miller. A large number of parents from the community at­ tended Music Night at Usborne Central School Thursday evening. The week before was Open House and the science fair at the school. This was also well attended by students and their parents. The Elimville United Church Women held a Family Night Sunday evening when Joan Allen showed slides and told of her experiences in India. Joan worked there among the sick, the lepers and the flood victims. She had many interesting stories to tell. Joan also had a number of articles from India on display. A social hour followed in the church basement. Enjoying the Kirkton Horticulture three day bus trip to Ottawa on the weekend were Mr.& Mrs. Delmar Skinner, Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper, Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Fulton, Miss Doris Elford and Mrs. Emerson Johns. Achievement Day for the 4-H club “Accessories, the Final Touch” will be Saturday morning at 9 o’clock ast the Exeter Public School. The public is invited. Summary Day for “Needlepoint” will be May 23 at 7.15 at the Exeter Recreation Centre.
