McMurtry said Wednesday.
McMurtry said in a state
ment that he was making
the announcement well in
advance because his office
had received many
telephone calls and letters
from merchants.
“The provincial law re
quires stores to close on
Dominion Day, which this
year falls on July 2,” the
solicitor-general said.
“Therefore, stores are
required to remain closed on
that Monday in addition to
the usual Sunday closing.’’
