The game was one of four season openers in the Ausable district soccer association. Nairn went one ahead at 15 minutes when Exeter shanked a clearing shot into their own net. Then, at 50 minutes, Gelbert Guivouron hit a swerving ball past Exeter keeper Paul Van Esbroeck to put the Car dinals in front 2-0. Lome Rideout, an Exeter newcomer at midfield, got the Centennials their single goal from a scramble with about 10 minutes left in the game. Both clubs also missed at chances on a penalty kick apiece. Next week, the Cen tennials play away at Huron Park. Game time is 2 p.m., Sunday, May 13. Exeter’s next home game at Canner’s field will be at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 20, when they host Lucan.T-A photoMoffatt and Jeff Hanna.
