Mrs. Gordon McRobert presided and opened the meeting with thoughts on immortality. Several items of business were discussed including the bazaar in the fall. The program was con­ vened by Miss Mabel McNaughton and Mrs. Glen Jameson, Miss McNaughton read a number of quotes on “What is a Mother” and Mrs. Jameson presented a paper on the Bible study, dealing with Jesus and the Pharisees. McRobert presiding, and opening the meeting with a reading on “Family Love”. Mrs. Emerson Wallis was in charge of the program, and presented a paper from the current Bible study on the Lordship of Jesus, this dealt with Jesus and the Pharisees. Jean Neil chaired the program and Helen Ratz welcomed the ladies. Irene Finkbeiner gave a tribute to the daughters and Karen Hodge replied with a tribute to the mothers. Jeanette Lamport gave a reading on grandmothers. Nola Ratz gave the scrip­ ture. Refresh­ ments were given out at the Lion’s Park in Lucan and the Scout Hall in Granton. The Lucan and Biddulph Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society would like to extend their appreciation to the riders, and all the volunteers who helped in any capacity to make this project a success. Special thanks to Christie’s Biscuits for donating the cookies Mr. Christie, you sure do make good cookies. Elwood Morden was in charge of the service and welcomed Dr. Ross Green from Thorndale who brought a message on behalf of the mission and service department of the United Church. Dr. Green spoke on his work as a missionary doctor in Nigeria. We should be more in­ terested in evangelism than politics said Dr. Green and accept the fact that God is working through all of us. Each Lay person has a mission to portray Christ around the world, have faith and your prayers will be answered. At St. Thomas Anglican Church, Rev. Mary Mills conducted the morning worship and as it was Bible Sunday, took her sermon from the book of Jonah. Tuesday evening the ladies on King Street met at Jeanette Lamport’s home for social evening to say farewell to Miss Morlock. Sunday the Adult Sunday School class and their families along with the Christian Education com­ mittee gathered for a lovely lunch and social time.
